Former 2nd round pick. Lamar’s cousin. Throw a dart and see if he works here in Baltimore? We do need outside depth.

He's an interesting one. Talented player who just hasn't put it all together and has had a lot of health struggles to add to it in the last 2 years. I'm guessing he gets claimed before he makes it to us. Big thing to note here is that his base salary is inflated for 2022. Not that you can't get out of it, but also one of those where if you're toward the end of the waiver order, you might as well let him slide by and see if you can work something else out if you want him.

I'm sorry y'all I hate to be negative but D Hop will not be a Raven next year. The WR market is extremely inflated and the Ravens are a cheap front office. I cant imagine they give up the required draft capital in a bidding war for D Hop.

They're saying he's gonna be released because he's too expensive. But a free to choose where to play DHop ain't coming to Baltimore

I usually tier players versus having definitive bests for this exact reason. My t1 of WRs is: CK, Hill, Diggs, JJ, and Chase.

Adams looks like someone who was made by a QB because he looks average at best without Rodgers and DHop will now have missed significant time in 2 straight years and you cannot be one of the best if you are only playing 2/3 of the games.
Adams looks average at best without Rodgers? Huh? 5th in receptions, 3rd in yardage, and tied for the lead in TDs.

Can make a case that, given the downgrade in QB play, he's literally having the best season of his career.

So I'd say a few things:
1. I think he'll be a Cardinal next year, but assuming they extend Hollywood, it'll probably be his last season there.
2. I have no idea if they'll agree to pay him the $19.5M salary he's owed next year. That's not outrageous for a player of his caliber, but his injury concerns would probably have me asking for a paycut potentially.
3. He does have a $30.7M cap hit next year. Can't imagine he'll stay on at that price tag.

While I would never bet on somebody like Hopkins being a Raven, because there's literally 32 teams in the league and plenty would want him, I'm thinking more in like the 2024-2025 timeframe of it being an outside chance. I don't think it'll be 2023 at all. Certainly not if Lamar gets tagged.

Yes he put up numbers by catching fewer balls. He is catching 57% of balls thrown his way this year which is 10-15% less than he both traditionally has and than the other WRs who have looked good. He is getting numbers by having passes forced his way but he is not looking good.

I think he would if we offered enough cash. That's just not out style, and I'm thankful for that the majority of the time. Just sucks losing the majority of the free agent or trade sweepstakes.

I agree, but I'm trying to understand why you and others say the FO is cheap. As most teams do, we spend up to the cap every year. Now their strategy may be to not over extend, so to avoid years in "cap hell", but I don't see that as being cheap.

we did try and trade for him when he was initially traded to Arizona. For some reason the trade was denied. Would be interesting if we would offer him the money he wants. Of course Lamar Jackson would need to be extended for this to happen or traded for that matter.

OK, but he's also always been a high target player and his decreased catch rate has as much to do with his QB errant throws as it does his own abilities.

He looks very, very, very good on film.

correct and it's not like he wasn't forced balls in Green Bay also.

In Green Bay he caught in the last 2 years 73% and 77% of balls thrown his way so while they were forcing him the ball he was catching them at a rate that would put their QB among the best in the NFL for completion (which of course Rodgers was). Basically even forcing it to Adams he was completing more balls to Adams doing that then his average. That is not true for Carr.

On a Raiders highlight reel he looks great. In live action he looks very inconsistent. It is like watching Amari Cooper or a more Ravens slant a better version of Torrey Smith where they vanish for long stretches of time and then just make a couple plays so their highlight reel looks great after struggling all game.

They wanted a first and the Ravens wouldn't budge. Probably a good call, but who knows

Bullshit, he’s catching less balls as a percentage because he has Derek carr instead of Aaron Rodgers

Yeah that’s because Rodgers can put a jumpball on target and carr isn’t nearly as capable… this isn’t hard.

They over value draft picks and will never subject themselves to a situation that could lead to cap hell. I love and hate this approach. More often than not its the correct approach, but we rarely get "the guy". Feels like it leaves us in a competitive purgatory. Always in the playoff hunt but never talented enough to win it all.

Well yeah, because Rodgers is more accurate and LeFleur does a better job of scheming open players than McDaniels does.
If it were an issue with Adams himself, then I'd expect a higher dropped pass rate to be driving down his catch rate, which isn't happening.
