Signings, Cuts, Trades

feels like the same shit as last year
injuries piling up at the one position that couldnt afford any - let alone 2 or 3

This fall squarely on Eric. They failed to have an adequate back up plan. Starting the season with Bateman, Duv, Proche, and Drob simply wasn't enough. Like the post says just 1 injury and you're screwed well we happened to lose our #1 and now our # 2-3. They put all their eggs in 1 basket and now them eggs are scrambled.

I think it's even worse when you consider that DRob wasn't even a thing until he got cut somewhat unexpectedly. We were really about to roll with Bateman, Duv, and Proche as a top 3.

Yep, I couldn't remember when we picked up Drob. Damn this has to be the worst dropping the ball (pun intended lol) the FO has ever done. We legit had #4 and 5 wrs from last year as our starting group.

And made worse by good marketing around Proche thinking he was taking that step. Or maybe we were just telling ourselves that because we knew the reality. Regardless, he turned out to be practically useless.

i think that's the really frustrating thing for me (and it was early in the season too)
from the usage of proche early in the year, you can see he was never a viable option - not just that they had high hopes and he missed them, clearly he was never it... and yet for months they did nothing about it which led to this

i absolutely can understand, being excited about the young guys and going into the post-draft offseason stuff letting it play out and letting those guys develop and get reps and see whether one or two of them can amount to anything...

but by the time we got well into training camp, it was obvious to them, based on the way they've since used their young WRs, that none of them had done, beyond a bit of development by Duv...

that's where this becomes an unacceptable lack of action - and there will have been better options at that time to fix this issue (or at least create more depth and have a contingency)

obviously this group was always gonna be screwed without Bateman - but there were ways to mitigate the lack of depth behind him...

but partly what made us buy-in was the hype statements etc. but also the fact that they clearly werent making any moves to usurp him
