Signings, Cuts, Trades

Mike White is the starter, Flacco promoted to backup while the Zach Wilson era seems to be over for the Jets. With the 49ers connections in New York, have to think Jimmy G is the starter of the Jets next season.

Josh would be too expensive but he would fit right in with what we do. Dobbins and Josh Jacobs sounds AWFUL if you are a defense
I think Jacobs is a dominant RB for sure. I was just responding to his comment about feeling frustrated. I think right now a player would have to have a high frustration tolerance to want to play in Balt. This team seems to lose stupidly.

Keeping them together is actually the easiest thing to do.

Just sign Lamar to long term contract, then at least in 23 and 24 we can have a monster team to back him up.
Oh wow. It's almost like if we just sign Lamar we can do anything we want. Hmm wonder if we should do it?

EARTH TO DECOSTA

Definitely. Would be very tough to break this OL up

also Ben Cleveland's lack of development makes this decision tougher also - if he'd progressed then maybe the 80-20 rule comes into play with Zeitler but i think Zeitler's been that good, and Cleveland's clearly not developed the way he might have that 80-20 probably doesnt apply here

it's possible it comes into play with moses though with Faalele if they think Faalele can take a step - but 2.5m savings on that question vs Moses and Faalele developing another year and maintaining that OT depth sounds like a safer better bet to me

I was never on board with us getting rid of Zeitler. He has consistently been one of the bright spots on offense. I'd rather let go of Powers if I HAD to.

i dont think we're paying both

but i wonder if powers could potentially be a bozeman situation where he tests the market and finds out he doesnt get what he might have hoped only this time we welcome him back on a 1 year low-price deal

i think with cleveland's lack of development (and tyre before him) that we probably dont let both guards go - but i think we can probably only choose to pay one

this team has got such a good spine of superstars in place on both sides of the ball if we can get Lamar and Roquan done this offseason

Zeitler and Powers is an interesting decision because of the long-term considerations. Zeitler is probably the better player, but will be 33 at the start of next season. Powers is the lesser of the 2 players (which isn't meant as a slight) but has really improved and has youth on his side.

Good point. At least Zeitler hasn't shown any signs of slowing down so far. Would a two-year deal work for him? Yanda was 35 or 36 when he retired.
