Also speaks again to the culture we have here. Lots of complaints but there are a ton more guys that come here and don't want to leave vs. the ones that want to get out. Not easy to get a guy in for 9-10 weeks and get him to forgo an opportunity to see what's out there on the market, especially one of this magnitude.

Can’t remember who I was arguing with about this but there was definitely a lot of “why wouldn’t roquan go see his worth on the open market?” As a justification to call it a bad trade. It was basically trade a 2nd> half year rental> get outbid in FA= bad trade. For some reason getting outbid in FA was such a foregone conclusion that they could already call it a bad trade.

I don't mind lower number double digits on big guys, but the single digit on big ass dudes like JPP in 4 looks like shit.

This I’ll agree with. 18 is wack for a LB but I love single digits for LBs/edge/db/wr/rb

Half year rental was almost nothing, too. Bears paid majority of what he was owed.

That's a great deal for the Ravens. Roquan was always going to be the highest paid ILB, but his deal is only marginally higher than Leonard signed for, just before the'21 season.

I definitely think he could have got more on the open market. It seems like he wanted to be a Raven, so long as he got the top contract.

And now the tag is freed up for Lamar.

LJ stated that he wasn't going to be having contract conversations with The Ravens during the season. Roquan Smith situation is different even though he wasn't on the team during that time when LJ made the statement
