Depends on who they play.

Not sure you'll beat the Dolphins with them. Regular season ends today, and Buffalo, Pittsburgh and Cleveland are the wildcards. I'm 100% confident we could beat PIT and CLE with those two backs. And I'm not overly scared to play BUF either.

There's a LOT of teams in the AFC that don't have special RBs that are going to make the playoffs. Ravens aren't different.

We didn’t beat Pit with those 2 backs though. And it was all Lamar against the Browns

You don't know that and I don't know that until it happens.I'm not really that concern about Edwards and Hill. They seem like solid running backs to me and Hill may actually be better than we think. No telling what Keaton Mitchell may add to the running back committee either.

It would be nice for the team to have a special running back but I just don't see there being a trade for one that makes sense from a financial point of view to me.

Right but we didn't lose because of our inability to run the ball. Don't think there's anybody that watched that game and said "we can't win because we can't run the ball effectively with our backs".

All Lamar against Cleveland? He had 27 rushing yards and 213 yards total. He threw 19 passes. Lamar had one of his worst game ever as a runner.
He played well because he was efficient, not because he was a great runner.

Ravens running backs went 21 for 102 in that game. Nearly 5.0 YPC. Easily one of their best games of the year.
 
I think there's too much RB panic after facing a really good run defense but it's going to get a lot worse after the Detroit game, when we've faced two in a row, so I suppose I better get used to it.

I can't see any value in giving up draft capital for a big name high salary back. A lot of the other names mentioned as trade candidates are done but we might well bring one of those in after they're cut. The Ravens do love an over the hill running back.

I think a Guard might be a better position to trade for if we want to improve the run game. We'll probably look to upgrade both Zeitler and Simpson in the off season. Getting one replacement in early might be a better use of draft capital

Agreed, though I think its just a lot harder to trade for quality Olineman. They're pretty much needed on all teams regardless of circumstance. Even if you're in a "rebuild" waiting to get a franchise QB, one of the best things you can have when they get there is high level Oline play.

Texans invested heavily in their Oline before they even drafted Stroud. Which was smart move on their part.

It's impressive that Stroud doesn't seem to need them .4/5 of their line has been out all season and he's doing great.

I take your point about O line, but Guards hit the market and sign elsewhere for reasonable rates every year. One of the bottom teams might well take a pick for a player they weren't planning on re-signing anyway.

The RB potential trade market is just too depressing to dip into. Some of the names mentioned have been less impressive than Melvin Gordon this season (eg. Dalvin Cooked) and the ones who would be a genuine upgrade will be too expensive in terms of salary and picks to be worthwhile.

and I hate the Titans.....and I don't have history with the Ravens dating back to the Houston Oilers and the Eddie George days. I just can't stand Vrabel.

I don’t see any competent OL being traded, but if there was an opportunity to acquire someone, it’d almost certainly be a G. Don’t have a long term option at either spot right now.

This. No one trades quality linemen, not even bad teams and espically not someone we could afford. If Derrick Henry is somehow aviable to us you go get him. He is the exact sure to your 4th quarter regressions. The option of Lamar off the edge or Henry up the middle on crowded short yard situations would be insane

The Oline had every right to be a weak spot this year and then fall apart with Linderbaum and Stanely injuries. Theyve done a fantastic job all things considered
