Zeitler hasn't played anything like his usual standard this year. He might have stuck around a season too long. He and Simpson are both upgradeable

We run out of the gun/pistol pretty much exclusively, and I'm not sure that's best suited for Henry. Henry typically does better at of the I or single back when he can get forward momentum going before he gets the ball. We'd either have to put Lamar in under center a lot more, or Henry would have to adapt to our offense.

And I also have no idea if Henry has experience doing read-options or zone-reads.

yep, that was a biggie and he would tell you he wasn't considering the Bears paying for most of his 2022 remaining salary.

his last 3 games have been his best three of the season and on par with last season. He's still an excellent player and I wouldn't mind extending him on a team friendly deal.....especially due to the 4.6m dead cap we have from the voidable contract.
 
I truly believe the most realistic, but maximum impact player we could add to this team is Derek Henry.

I guess it could be a OG but that seems impractical. Could be a defensive player but like I think that would be more of a move for the future compared to going in for this year.

I’ve done a 180 in recent weeks. I feel like a RB would be the best possible addition, pending cost of course.

Also wouldn’t be shocked that if there’s no bigger deal to be had, that we prioritize depth (S maybe?) that is also a quality STer.

Mitchell was hurt again today. Guy is electric but is looking like he just doesn't have an NFL man's body. Which is why he went undrafted. Drake isn't even on the PS. You've got Gordon who has been unspectacular.

Henry I think would be a big deal for this team. Similar to CMC for the 9ers.

Ultimately though, I wish it was just JK.

you're not governed by the trade deadline for that kind of move

I’m not completely sold on the Henry fit here. Wouldn’t be mad depending on price but not sure he’s the guy I’d be gunning for.

Who would you be thinking? Saquon is apparently not on the market. I don't think we'd go for him anyway based on injury history. Javonte Williams maybe but he's also coming off major injury. Plus is he a real game chnager?

I think Henry could be the real deal with us. Definitely has the background and experience to play well with Lamar.

Hard to say without knowing who is truly available but I’d prefer someone a little more dynamic in zone and as a ball catcher.

With Henry, you get another version of Gus. A better version of course but think you’re looking for a complement more than a replacement.
