Pickens should’ve been the pick, but at the time it was between Pickens or ojabo and frankly the only reason to prefer one over the other was personal preference. Ojabo was a steal where we got him based on the film, dude has stayed injured though, couldn’t project all that based on one freak injury.

Glass half full perspective: Us passing on Pickens got us Flowers aka AB 2.0 the following year. So I don’t want to hate on it too much.. even though picking a guy coming off a Achilles, given our injury curse, was a bad move.

Ojabo a Michigan guy though, so imma just blame that on Harbs so that my hatred for him can grow.

(I’m still down for Blake Corum though!)

Blud has so much hatred and emotions going on right now that he forgot that it's GLASS HALF FULL, not guess half full LOL.

We're on, I think, 24 games straight with over 100 yards rushing, so we're not exactly struggling there. It doesn't really matter if the yards come from one back or several.
It’s Lamar

I usually do not like doing stats this way (because YPC to me tends to not tell the whole story) but it is worth nothing that Edwards is at 4.1 YPC and Hill at 4.7 YPC and people seem upset that the Ravens did not make a move to trade key future draft picks (considering the Ravens will soon need to replace much of the front 7 and most of the DL) for a half year rental. Those guys that they wanted the Ravens to rent were Jacobs at 3.1 YPC and Barkley at 3.7 YPC.
We’ve gone over this though , YPC is irrelevant when they are only rushing for exactly what they are blocked for.

Lol… think my fingers getting fatter or something. Been doing a lot of spelling errors lately.

God telling to me hit the gym :crying:

Let’s at least wait until tomorrow before we start the simp for EDC post.

Jacobs is giving you 3.1 YPC right now. Also his long for running is 24 yards. For Justice Hill that number is 27 yards and for Edwards that number is 20 yards (though remember Edwards does have the 80 yard reception which is the 2nd longest pass of Lamar's career). So the big play you are expecting is not there. The average YPC you are expecting is not there.
Inflated due to playing with lamar, jacobs plays with lamar he'd be better then those guys(led the league in rushing last year) hes just with the raiders
so now we're relying on gus, hill(fumbles), mitchell(hurt)
Also the Jags do not have "several receivers better" they have Kirk and that is it. I think if I offered Flowers for Ridley for just this year just about every GM is taking Flowers with a smile on their face, because Ridley is okay. Kirk is a top 20-25ish WR. Ridley maybe top 40ish. You are okay if Ridley is your 2 but he is not a player you win because of.

kirk is better then zay, ridley is obviously better then zay, and zay is our best wr and the rest of the wr core, lamar just makes the rest look good

Yes andrews is better but engream is top 10

better rb room? you serious this gotta be ravens bias because no way our rbs is better then eteienne let alone Etienne + tank

You can’t justify Hollywood pick as a good pick from EDC by saying we swapped him out for linderbaum. That just means he wasnt good enough to get extended and EDC got lucky Cardinals QB is his bff. Literally the only team who would give a 1st for him.

“2022 the first two picks already look like studs?”

Ojabo played in like 3 games and can’t hold the edge to save his life. 3-4 game action in 2 years, with that production.. is enough for you to say he a stud? Lol

EDC drafting has been mid at best if we’re being honest.
2022 is Hamilton and Linderbaum and yes they are already studs and playing like some of the best at their positions. Ojabo was our 3rd pick in this class. Still too early to make a call on the 2022 class. Even PQ was considered a bust until a month into his year 3

Hollywood was a good wr in his own right whether we extended him or not. He may not be a true number 1 but he was very good in a roman scheme. Always created space and scored a lot of touchdowns

We’ve gone over this though , YPC is irrelevant when they are only rushing for exactly what they are blocked for.

The thing nobody who has watched either has thought they are playing well. People are watching them play and going "this is why RBs dont get extended". It is just weird to me to hear that refrain over and over and then "Ravens should give up a day 2 pick to get this player who has fallen off for 8 games".

It’s Lamar
It is. A boost to the run game is one of the bonuses Lamar gives you. It doesn't matter what the RB stats would be without Lamar because, last time I checked, we've got Lamar and we're running for at least 100 yards every week.

People were dreaming of star Rbs and now they're disappointed, but we're OK

Etienne is not good. He is doing the exact same thing Harris did where he is getting a ton of touches so his yardage looks good.

Also its weird how you are basing your entire theory of WRs on a very specific metric. Normally I do not mind having key metrics to judge positions but you sort of picked a bad one. Boldin was a bad WR by this metric. He obviously was not but using this metric he is. I could name several others but I figure Boldin is the one people are most familiar with.

Now WRs are not as simple for me to look at for stats. For example, for pass rushers I tend to look at push rush win rate as while sacks require you to win your matchup and then something else to happen (a QB not seeing the pressure or the coverage being good), pass rush win rate requires only that a pass rusher win his matchup so its a very clean statistic to use.

Now for WR I do not have a "golden" statistic. I do have a priority list though. First on that list is catch % as catching the ball is literally your job as WR. If you are above 70% you are likely an elite WR, or having an all pro level season, provided you are combining that with a decent YPC. Conversely if you are under 60% something is going wrong and you are not playing well. You might note that this is similar to completion % where if a QB is completing over 70% he is probably playing pretty well and under 60% poorly and in between we need to go deeper.

Now you might ask why I am going on about this and that is because Calvin Ridley is at 57% catch percentage which is simply not good enough. Fun fact by the way just to make sure I was not missing some great stat I decided to look up his projected market value, and he is sitting at around 14.5m and that already feels generous but is less impressive when you realize for where is drafted and his age he is basically getting projected to be paid the money teams are paying there WR2/WR3.

Meanwhile lets look over to Flowers. He is averaging 10.1 YPC and catching 72.1% of the balls thrown his way which is why the NFL is taking notice of him.

As someone who does pretty well betting on all these teams, certainly the past couple weeks I have been, I tend to keep track of who the good players are on each team, and what the weak units are, in order to decide on matchup problems.

Also when comparing Engram and Andrews I think it is important to distinguish the gap between being in the upper 1/3 of NFL starters at your position and being all pro. Terry McLaurin and Mike Evans are pro bowl level guys. Hill and Jefferson are all pro level guys. That is kind of gap we are talking about in terms of ability. Engram is a great player and he is a weapon you would be happy to have who can help you win. Andrews is a weapon you can win because of. That is the gap between all pro and pro bowl. Someone who can help you win versus someone who is why you win.

The fact that you think kirk is better than ridley is wild
