I think the mistake might be taking positions in the first that you can't even pick up the 5th year on, never mind the use the tag.
Obviously, if the player is so much better than the next guy on your board it can't be helped but I think losing all those R1 advantages should be a big consideration when drafting.

It’s bullshit. It’s a hindrance to the FO and it only hurts him as a player. If he wants to handle business on his own he needs to be a fucking professional about it.
I mean i wouldnt be surprised if the extension is already agreed upon.. maybe they are just getting the numbers situated

Sounds like the other purple team has a good deal of interest in Ricard. He prefers to stay, but like the other guys we lost today... money talks
On Keaton, they think he's pretty bad in pass protection and feel he hasn't developed much as a pass catcher and that's why he's struggling to get much run here. Want to see if there's a smaller deal that can get done vs. the tender amounts, but he could look for a change of scenery.

all the immediate options are off the table so no harm in taking it slower and you can see what you get in the draft and have an extended look at corey bullock - and can always go back to the C well when it doesn't count against comp picks

Does make you wonder if we should be looking at the Chargers D, Dolphins D, and Bears O for guys to fill out the back of the roster a little later in the process. Guys that know a system and can come in and help install it and fill in for a year or two. Not used to being in a situation where the usual type may no longer be the type.

To be fair I’d say only one big hole and that’s C. G was so bad last year we’re already upgraded with Jones and Simpson. It Bullock plays average then we have a good OL that is easily better than last year’s monstrosity. Our OL coach is also good.
I also just remembered we have Vinson, who I like.

But can you negotiate in good faith with free agents right now with that extension not being locked in? Can’t we not trade for Crosby without at least a restructure?
