Do you have any idea what the Lindy contract would have looked like had it been signed last year?

I believe what he loses in endorsements is so much more than what he would pay out in commissions to an agent and it goes well beyond that as well.

The podcast thing is a nothing to me. Everyone and their dog has a podcast for me to ignore. If players aren't getting in trouble I don't care what they do off the field.

On the field he still seems like a player who gives full effort for the team, even if that's not as much as it used to be, so I like him based on that and past performances.

Probably just above Creed. The market was there and they thought they’d just be able to do the same come this offseason. Then the market rose.

As I said elsewhere- I disagree. Lamar is one of the few that actually has justified his cap hit. There are other players that would be far ahead of him on my list of complaints that are doing quite the number on the cap. He shouldn't be the only one getting grief.

What would have happened if they just signed Lindy last year? Wouldn't everything even out this year?

With Lamar’s contract, there is something that can be done, and it’s something that will give Lamar a multi hundred million dollar check as soon as he signs.

It’s well reported(not rumored) that Lamar does these things “at his own pace” which is unprofessional and detrimental to the team.

The team can't do anything about Humphrey or Roquan because the team shot themselves in the foot with restructuring their deals.

I know it's no fault of his own (to a degree), but that Madubuike contract is starting to look mighty awful.

While I would love Lamar to sign an extension, it's not like the team can't restructure his deal and immediately clear out a TON of cap space. Are people forgetting it doesn't have to be an extension only?

People are acting like Lamar is maliciously hurting the team- the team is in a bind because of poor moves made before this season. All Lamar did was sign an extension that the Ravens agreed to with him. And it isn't unprofessional to do things at his own pace.

Yes, I would love for Lamar to sign an extension and help the team clear cap, but he isn't the only reason the Ravens are in a pickle and I think it's weird to act like he is.

The structure would have been wildly different. They would have had to extremely backload it and probably kick a lot into voids and they weren't willing to do that on a deal that large.

He was a draft success, a 2x All Pro, who's always played hard, changed position to benefit the team and never shies a way from a tackle, which is unusual for a corner. I don't see anything there for a fan to hate.

Aside from his personality annoying some people, is it just that he aged and isn't the player he used to be that makes people so angry?

I will speak to Marlon and Roquan.

I absolutely love Marlon (see my name), but he has been fairly up and down the past few years and last year really stuck out like a sore thumb. He's always been a player that had amazing athleticism and it's fair to wonder if that's going out on him. I don't hate him, but he's got the fifth highest cap hit on the team (now that Crosby is here) and I don't think he's remotely worth that.

With Roquan, I was against the deal right from the rip. He can be a great player, but I didn't think there was value in making him the highest paid linebacker in the league. Off ball linebackers just aren't valuable enough unless you have a Fred Warner and Roquan isn't that- he just cannot cover. Devin Bush, who seems to be fairly similar to Roquan in that you're mostly having him defend the run and not running with tight ends, just signed for 3 years and $30M. Devin Lloyd, who is a phenomenal linebacker and is coming off a season that was way stronger than Roquan's, signed for 3 years $45M. I just view inside linebackers like how the league views running backs- unless you can get a truly special one, you're probably not going to see much difference between a lot of the "good" players.

I don't hate either, but I don't think either would be here if the Ravens hadn't shot themselves in the foot by making them uncuttable through restructures.

my last question about it, are we even sure Lindy signs a deal that is just above Creed?
 
Do we still have enough players to fill a roster lol
