Signings, Cuts, Trades

Great, round 2 of everyone shitting on the Ravens can commence now
Fux 'em all. There's no mystery here. They decided for whatever reason they didn't want to give up 2 firsts for a player that may not play many more years. They made another offer to LV and were turned down. End of the deal.

It's telling that apparently LV has not found another buyer. Seems more info came out after the exam and consults, and the Ravens made the correct decision.

I do not know if anything will come to fruition because big trades aren't easy as we've learned, but they're still floating pick 14 out there. They are not super thrilled with the early round prospects and who they think they can get there.

I 100% agree with this point of view. I keep doing mock drafts and don’t love anyone at 14, I find myself trading down and have similar thoughts at that point.
I’ve recently been toying around with trading up with the Commies to land Bain and I like that option far more than staying at 14.
Trading 14 for a player is also another avenue I’m intrigued by. Any thoughts on who could be potential targets?

No idea. My guy gets the sense they like the mid rounds... just not the value at 14. I'm interpreting that as meaning they aren't too keen on a trade up but I could be wrong. Just think they're kind of looking at it as a situation where if they have a pick that high for the first time in a few years, they might as well use it on something premium instead of using it just to use it. But obviously takes two to tango. And they can't absorb a super large salary right now so that limits the options.

Vikings signed Punter Johnny Hekker. If this team wants to rely on some rookie Punter again.... come on. Get a veteran Punter who knows how to pin opponents deep. Get some competition for Loop. Lamar's prime can't be wasted on rookie Kickers & Punters development.

Hekker’s leg has been gone a few years now. Not close to the guy he was early on.

Or they only were willing to trade him for 2 1s and no one else is interested in paying that for a 29 year old pass rusher who likely only has 3-4 elite years left in the best case.

Isn’t that what we were counting on? 3-4 years of high level? I think we found out we might get 1, possibly MAYBE 2 and we said fuck that. At least that’s how I read it.
