Signings, Cuts, Trades

They thought they had it locked in Saturday night before FA open on Monday. Linderbaum was prepared to agree, but then LV showed up Sunday morning (yes, everyone is talking to FAs well before they're supposed to) and just made that impossible. The Ravens were in the running and offering similar money all along until that point.
Much more than what I believed was his real worth. In any case, we saved $$ and can use it to augment other positions of need.

Highly doubt he would be moved before the draft. Look at our wr room
He’s not gonna be moved, you know I just got beef with him

Still very quiet but some more specifics that I've heard...

They have an "agreement" with Reader to sign after the draft, pending someone else doesn't come in and make a better offer. But all of the boxes are checked and it's just a waiting game to see if another team panics if they don't fill out their DL how they'd like.

They're keeping contact open with Njoku but as I said a couple of weeks ago, he wants more money than the Ravens are willing to pay. Like many guys before, they're content letting him go out there and shop the offer around with the expectation that he comes back to the table if he's finding he's not getting what he wants. They'd like him but are also content drafting a guy or two, so there's also a world where they move on if Njoku's price doesn't come to their level.

Would be shocked if they don't add a veteran WR and Edge to the roster at some point over the summer. They've checked in on nearly all of the bigger name guys left and are content to wait that out.

Still seems like the ideal early draft picks would OL, TE, WR, and/or Edge. There's one certain high level WR with some injury issues that opinions are widely varied on.

Who?

Pretty much has to be Tyson. Had knee damage in 22-23, a broken collarbone in '24 (although can't imagine that factors into the concerns), and a hamstring injury recently.
Only other possibility I see is Chris Bell, who tore his ACL five months ago.
Yeah it’s Tyson. Lots of love for the guy himself but the divided opinions are whether his body can handle the next level.

Reader would be a great addition
Njoku would be a great addition

would be nice to get some rotational depth at EDGE given that the depth in that room is wildly non-existent and there's a bunch of guys still on the market (and no guarantee the draft falls your way at EDGE)

the WR must be Tyson - Concepcion has had an injury this offseason but i cant imagine it would be one that would be divisive

this TE draft is so deep in the middle rounds - would have to be a ridiculous value for me to be happy with a TE early and idk that i see a TE worth a top pick in this draft tbh

I really think the roster is significantly improved if we sign Njoku and add Clowney back into the mix.

Hit the draft hard in the trenches and at WR.

it's a really good IOL draft in R1-3 and especially strong at C mid day 2, OT group runs out of potential starters pretty quick - maybe even by the end of R1
it's not a good DT draft - not many guys who aren't NTs and most of them are either 2 down players or you're betting on projection - some guys i like but it's a weak DT class
EDGE is a pick your flavour kind of class but day 2 has a ton of options if they don't all go early

terrible RB class
terrible QB class
TE is weak at the top, but once the run starts somewhere (probably mid-to-late day 2), you might see 10-12 guys go in the 25-45 picks
WR is available throughout, like the EDGE class there are lots of different flavours
DB is full of guys who should contribute early in their careers
LB class is decent

in general i would say you should be expected to grab a starting quality player with a top 70-80 pick, after that you're looking mostly at rotational guys (at least early) and then i'd say the quality of prospects drops off a cliff somewhere around 150... there's guys i'd be ok drafting beyond that point, but not guys i'd expect to last long in the league

Thanks for this! Getting Reader would help then too. Prioritize the OL in the draft.

Sucks this is such a bad draft for being higher picks overall for us. In quality and quantity. We gotta really hit on our vet pickups

To be clear, the listing of positions are day 1 and 2 consideration - not just at 14. With TE specifically, it seems to be more of a day 2 consideration.

my thought would be even R2 is too early
R3 would depend on who's still available i suppose
R4-5 is the absolute sweet spot - would happily double dip at TE on day 3 given the depth there
