Eagles trading brown to patriots june 1st.. im guessing they are willing to move up in draft to try and get tyson? Tell them send us jalen carter
I’d give up a haul for Carter man

Sick of yall shooting at Bateman like Robocop. Besides the contract, what does the wr room look like without him? If we manage to add another guy, or Tez steps up, thats now a strength.

I don’t like Bate but I agree with you, not worth trading him. If we go WR in the first and he can play outside, move Zay to the slot and the WR corps is looking pretty sexy

Granted you could do much worse than Bate as your WR2

Bate's going to be better this year than any WR we draft outside of R1 (or maybe R2) - if he's only fetching you a day 3 pick, it's not worth it

Guys. Guys. We re-signed Xavier Guillory. Everyone calm down.
That's all we needed to get rid of Bateman! /s

Real talk, they wanted him on the PS before he broke his collarbone. They've worked him out several times over the last 6 months and were just waiting on him to get fully healthy.

I have nothing against Bateman and I think he's a good player, he just hasn't performed well with the Ravens and I think a change of scenery would be beneficial for both sides.
His production isn't that hard to replace.
You can't wait for a player indefinitely; sometimes they just don't work out.

I'm fine with all of these discussions, but again, pretty much all reasonable discussions about trading Bateman start in 2027.
You basically can't trade him prior to June 1st unless you're willing to take on $5.5M more in cap hits. His cap hit increases from the current $6.1M to $11.6M if you trade him before June 1st. And realistically, you're talking about trading him in the next couple days, as you're looking at 2027 draft comp after that, which means there's no purpose in trading him before June 1 anyway.

A post-June 1 trade only creases $2.3M in cap savings, which is not enough to lose even a depth WR, and again, you wouldn't get draft comp until 2027.

People need to understand he's only making $6.5M this year and scheduled to only make $8.25M next year. That's not a lot for a WR2/WR3 type in the NFL. And if he's not performing, his trade value isn't going to be anything more than like a day 3 pick, which then sets the question of why bother trading him at all.

Receiver is a need and unless you absolutely love whatever late round pick you're about to get I just don't see how trading Bate is a good idea.

They’re frustrated with Bateman but they also aren’t going to pay more money to just give him away for a low return. He’ll get a chance to get back to 2024 him this season and they’ll cross that bridge next year if he doesn’t.

Only ways something happens this year is if they draft a guy and just say they don’t need him anymore, Bateman gives up something to facilitate a move, and/or they get a really good return that they don’t care about the money impact. That’s a lot to go right to make that happen.
