27. Seattle Seahawks: AJ Epenesa, Edge, Iowa - they stop fucking around with weird selections and find the michael bennett replacement theyve needed, and i cry because ONE MORE SPOT
28. Baltimore Ravens: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU -
say goodbye to the poor edge contain of 2019, say goodbye to a lot of the issues with the LB corps, our Mike LB for the long haul is here. Queen is incredibly explosive first and foremost, but what ive come to learn about him is that he is very inclined at LB in general, where most LBs are hanging around trying to decide what moves to make, Queen is already full throttle, hes diagnosing the play as the ball is snapped and flowing at the same time, just incredibly quick on the trigger, yet, he is still patient, he gets himself in position early in the down but doesnt overcommit, he lingers and forces ballcarriers to make a decision which he often anticipates and causes disruption, where most LBs are shooting and trying to knife through and leaving openings, Queen is hovering and forcing the play to slow down by leveraging himself around the run lanes. Screens and outside runs just dont work with this guy in the middle, he sees them forming from the jump, and he is screaming to one sideline or another ready to bring the wood. He lacks the ideal size and length to take on and shed blocks, but he has a violent twitch about him which allows him to really bring some POP to his game with just 1-2 steps, and he has the mentality for it too, he could certainly stand to play stronger but when he gets his read and pulls the trigger theres a damn good chance he fucks up something in the offense, whether he makes the stop himself in the blink of an eye, or he sees the blocker coming and knows hes gotta bust his shit, hes gonna do it and do it well. This is the first step in EDC bringing the ravens front seven into the future.
29. Tennessee Titans: Zack Baun, OLB, Wisconsin
30. Green Bay Packers: Jaelen Raegor, WR, TCU
31. SF 49ers: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU - can never have enough corners, and if you wanna win it all with the likes of KC, Sea, and NO to compete against, this is where you add to a team with no holes
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Round 2:
Ravens trade one of their 3rd round picks to move up for
Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan
Shea Patterson screwed this guy over, he would be a top 20 pick in THIS class if he had quality qb play and if michigan coaching wasnt so notoriously bad at developing WRs. DPJ is one of the highest ceiling receivers in a long time, and is a guy that probably wouldnt find a better situation than here in baltimore, what DPJ lacks in refinement and quick separation ability, he makes up for with freakish athleticism and size that you simply cant coach, and his returner experience gives him an edge in an offense where a mobile qb can break down the field and give him openings, while he develops his route tree he is still of use by being possibly the most dangerous player on the field once lamar breaks the pocket, get him the ball in a broken field and look out because this guy can shake, truck, and drag defenders every bit as well as that hack Laviska Shenault and can do so a whole lot faster, and with the ball in the air, whether hes covered or not, hes no slouch at coming down with it, he has routinely made incredible catches or poorly thrown balls and caught balls with a very tight window. The jimjohn connection influences this move a little bit.
Round 3:
Zack Moss, RB, Utah
too good a value, im very high on zack moss and i think its a toss up between moss, akers, and taylor on RB1, but i think moss has the highest ceiling. He is a decisive downhill runner with breakaway speed, excellent one cut burst, excellent jabs in the open field, excellent vision, and extremely powerful legs and core that has tacklers bouncing off of him frequently. if this offense is about take the ball and go, then moss is the fit, we arent looking for a bouncer, we dont want a scat back, we dont want a stretch style runner like a jonathan taylor, we want this type of back. Ingrams wear and tear becomes much less and he might actually be a long term fixture here, and they would simply be a dynamic 1-2 punch, gus edwards inevitable departure is no longer of concern to us and if Moss is immediately a stud then edwards might actually become a solid trade target before the deadline. By Moss' 2nd year he will be the lead back and ingram will have the RB2 workload and specialize on 3rd down duties. our run game simply gets another kick in the ass and goes from the greatest of all time, to even goddamn better than that by adding a bigger homerun element to the backfield.
ROUND 4:
119. Tyler Biadasz, C, Wisconsin
the injury freefall ends here. yes i legitimately think biadasz will fall this far, the injury concerns are real. its always an issue when your play falls off a cliff following a surgery and then before you can check out medically at the combine... another injury knocks you out of it. The ravens make this pick in hopes that he returns to 2018 form, when he was head and shoulders the best IOL in the country and a starting C. Biadasz might not be in starting form in 2020, but come 2021 he may be our starting C and in good health and after getting some flexibility back in those hips with some offseason training, he may be a gigantic boost to our OL for the long term which will likely be desperately needing a center. This long armed, powerful ginger fuck didnt just lose ALL of his ability with 1 injury, i think he will be back.
124. Leki Fotu, DT, Utah
the idea here is to find a replacement for not only michael pierce, but also, oddly, brent urban. Fotu is a strange breed, hes built like a NT, but has brent urban-esque length and consequently similar pad level issues, however what he has over the likes of pierce and bwill is a much more attack oriented skill set, when he is tasked with 2 gapping and holding down the 0 and 1s, he is nothing special and is often a non threat, but when he is tasked to really push the pocket and attack from the 1, 2i, and 3 he is a different player, he moves very well, like freakishly well for a man his size, and he has giraffe necks for arms and uses them well, keeping the short armed interior OL completely helpless as he just bulls them in their necks and gets those gorilla mitts either up in the air or uncomfortably close to the qb, and he crashes extremely well when the run goes lateral and just really screws up one side of the line. with Fotu you arent looking for the typical space eater to occupy 2 blockers, he will get put on skates, you are looking for a guy to attack and crash gaps at angles, line him up at the 3 and crash across the guards outside shoulder and that side of the play collapses.
COMP. Alton Robinson, EDGE, Syracuse
big projection here, hes a guy with a ton of flashy tools and not a goddamn clue how to use them. very bursty and twithy, good length and size, but plays a bit like josh carraway if yall remember him from 2017, he squares up to the OT often and really exposes himself to contact, lots of stutter stepping in his rush and generally looking confused, but he can FLY and he can BEND with the best of them on the rare occasions he fires off the ball with the confidence to just let his natural talent take over. hes gonna be a redshirt guy and will need a lot of special attention from the coaches if hes gonna become anything, but thats what coaches are for.
ROUND 5:
153. Michael Divinity, OLB, LSU
motor guy and tools guy, but doesnt fend off blocks well at all, similar to robinson in the sense that he needs a lot of coaching and has the upside to warrant extra attention from coaches, and is a high character player, throws himself around and really plays with a ton of effort and some solid speed. he just genuinely lacks a shitload of refinement but could very well find himself a spot on the roster as a special teams ace and buy himself a year or 2 to develop.
2. Washington Redskins TRADE > Miami for picks 5 and 27
- Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
3. Detroit Lions: Chase Young, EDGE, OSU
4. New York Giants: Isaiah Simmons, S/LB, Clemson
5. Washington Redskins: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama - Redskins go all in on Haskins and get their QB who plays like hes got lead in his cleats a guy who can separate instantly.
