With free agency set to begin, I decided to throw out a mock before the crazy madness begins tomorrow during the tampering window. I'll be curious to how much this changes once signings start happening.
1. Cincinnati Bengals- Joe Burrow QB LSU: Until someone backs a truck load of draft picks at the Bengals, Burrow is a Bengal.
2. Washington Redskins- Chase Young EDGE Ohio State: Until someone gives them enough draft picks to forgo Chase Young, Young is a Redskin.
3. Los Angeles Chargers (via DET)- Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama: Chargers GM says he likes their internal options of Tyrod Taylor & Easton Stick. They either want to #TankForTrevor or this is a smokescreen for Tua, which is what I think it is.
4. New York Giants- Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa: Isaiah Simmons will be tempting but protecting Daniel Jones and opening hopes for Saquon should be priority.
5. Miami Dolphins- Justin Herbert QB Oregon: After LA steals Tua, Miami takes Herbert in hopes this tank job pays off down the line.
6. Detroit Lions (via LAC)- Derrick Brown DT Auburn: Lions have multiple Defensive Tackles set for free agency, while it may be fun to take Okudah or Simmons, the hole at defensive tackle is too glaring.
7. Carolina Panthers- Isaiah Simmons LB/S Clemson: The Panthers have a need at Linebacker and grab the top linebacker in the class.
8. Arizona Cardinals- CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma: Kyler Murray said he’d take Lamb. Cardinals are going to make their quarterback happy and take Lamb.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars- Javon Kinlaw DT South Carolina: Calais Campbell is on his way to Baltimore and the Jags grab his replacement here.
10. Cleveland Browns- Mekhi Becton OT Louisville: Cleveland can’t afford an injury to Baker Mayfield by ignoring the offensive line.
11. New York Jets- Jedrick Wills OT Alabama: If they can’t acquire Trent Williams, they will look to the draft for a new Left Tackle.
12. Las Vegas Raiders- Jeff Okudah CB Ohio State: Playing Mahomes twice a year will require a shutdown corner and luck is on their side here.
13. Miami Dolphins (via IND)- Andrew Thomas OT Georgia: Dolphins grab their blindside protector for Justin Herbert. Thomas is a solid Tackle who can help make Justin Herbert’s life easier.
14. Buffalo Bills (via TB)- Henry Ruggs III WR Alabama: Bills make a bold move to grab a new toy for Josh Allen. Ruggs is familiar with Bills OC Brian Daboll and gives Allen a deep threat down field.
15. Denver Broncos- Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama: Jeudy lands in Denver as Elway continues to give Lock more weapons to play with.
16. Atlanta Falcons- K’Lavon Chaisson EDGE LSU: Atlanta nabs a pass rusher here to replace Vic Beasley.
17. Dallas Cowboys- CJ Henderson CB Florida: Byron Jones is gone with the focus on Dak and Amari. Here’s a replacement for Jones.
18. Indianapolis Colts (via MIA)- Jordan Love QB Utah State: Love will compete with Jacoby Brissett immediately and may win the starting job right off the bat.
19. Las Vegas Raiders (via CHI)- Jalen Reagor WR TCU: Raiders nab a receiver here as they look to give Derek Carr more weapons after AB didn’t pan out for them.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars (via LAR)- Patrick Queen LB LSU: The Jags need some linebacking help after declining the option on Jake Ryan's contract and Telvin Smith left the team last season.
21. Philadelphia Eagles- Justin Jefferson WR LSU: The Eagles are rumored to be going after Demarcus Robinson in free agency, but they need more receivers.
22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (via BUF)- Xavier McKinney S Alabama: The Bucs need to upgrade their safety position and do so with McKinney.
23. New England Patriots- Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma: The Patriots have three linebackers set for free agency and Queen can fill in one of those spots.
24. New Orleans Saints- Laviska Shenault WR Colorado: The Saints are looking to add receivers opposite of Michael Thomas.
25. Minnesota Vikings- Trevon Diggs CB Alabama: They may look at Grant Delpit to replace Anthony Harris but they nab a replacement for Xavier Rhodes who was released by the team.
26. Miami Dolphins (via HOU)- AJ Epenesa EDGE Iowa: Dolphins addressed their QB and OL need earlier, now they grab an edge rusher who can get to the quarterback.
27. Seattle Seahawks- Yetur Gross-Matos EDGE Penn State: Seahawks will have a huge need to fill if Clowney leaves.
28. Baltimore Ravens- Cesar Ruiz C Michigan: Matt Skura tore his ACL, PCL and MCL while dislocating his knee cap. Skura said he may not be ready for Training Camp, and there has to be concern he may never be the same player. Ruiz can step in at center on day one for Skura or step in at Guard for Marshal Yanda.
29. Tennessee Titans- Austin Jackson OT USC: Titans just invested $118M into Ryan Tannehill, they need to protect it. Jack Conklin isn’t coming back so they replace him here.
30. Green Bay Packers- Josh Jones OT Houston: With Bulaga a free agent, they will need a new offensive tackle. Packers need to keep Rodgers upright as he gets older and this helps accomplish that.
31. San Francisco 49ers- Grant Delpit S LSU: While a corner would be nice, the 49ers land one of the top safeties to replace Jimmie Ward.
32. Kansas City Chiefs- Jaylon Johnson CB Utah: Chiefs met with him at the combine and he had a formal meeting with some of the defensive coaches. Chiefs could trade down here and still get him; I imagine they want that fifth year option.
Bears Round 2 (Pick 43) Cole Kmet TE Notre Dame: Matt Nagy has yet to find his Travis Kelce in Chicago and Trey Burton has not worked out.
Steelers Round 2 (Pick 49) Solomon Kindley G Georgia: Ramon Foster is entering the last year of his deal and could be a cap casualty.
Bears Round 2 (Pick 50) Kyle Dugger S Lenoir-Rhyne: The Bears need Safety help with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix being a free agent.
Rams Round 2 (Pick 52) Isaiah Wilson T Georgia: The Rams have a young quarterback with no offensive line in front of him. They need to improve the blocking for Jared Goff.
Texans Round 2 (Pick 57) Cameron Dantzler CB Mississippi State: The Texans have two corners hitting the free agent market and grab a replacement who has great size to match with the tall receivers.
