RB Thread

Wasn't into football when Yeldon came in so I can't really say what he was like as a prospect. Based on what I saw from Yeldon as a pro I could see the comp but my hope is that he becomes more than Yeldon in the NFL. I have him as a late 2nd round. I think he has more breakaway speed than Yeldon and finishes better.
Yeldons taken some time but he started to take off late in the year and in the playoffs. He's not a workhorse but he is an excellent rotation back if he stays on the same path, which is how I see Michel

Think Michel can be a workhorse. He runs with very good pad level and a compact style that enables him to effectively absorb contact. Best case scenario would be 25 touches with a stronger bruiser as his thunder.

Michel is a great rotation guy but he brings more of a change of pace than Yeldon. I think Michel is more explosive and shift than Yeldon was coming out. Plus Sony would compliment Collins extremely well. Id be really happy is he fell to the 3rd but thats unlikely

Wadley is the guy...Wadley is the guy over any second round wideout. Sorry but it's true. If Akrum is there in the second round, we must take him.
This guy is different. This guy is absolutely game wrecking special. An abject play maker the likes of which the team hasn't had since I don't know when.

special special elusiveness and vision....breakaway speed in the mold of Jamaal Charles and LeSean McCoy. Absolutely demands a defense honor play action because they will pay if they do not. cannot be taken down on on one in space.

Joe loves a good check down and Wadley can take a screen or a three yard dump off and go home with it. If you haven't watched this guy...watch him. if you have, please watch him again.

Watch him on goal line or third and short....he runs with determination and power between the tackles despite being a little light. I believe he could put on weight without suffering a loss in cutting or evasiveness. Makes something out of nothing...bounces out when hole is closed to gain yards that aren't there.
needs to work on pass protection and could have issues with ball security as I saw him fumble twice.

No wide receiver will keep coordinators up the way Wadley will...watch him....again! I'm telling you if we solidify this Oline and draft wadley this offense is spectacular.
Wadley is probably more of a 4th/5th round pick to be honest. Was really unimpressive at the senior bowl. Could be a steal but nobodys gonna consider him in the 2nd. Thats just crazy

Would not object to drafting Wadley at all. Dude is going to be a nightmare 3rd down back at worst.. Could easily see him being a feature back. Pass protection is lacking but he's honestly the perfect compliment to Collins and would add an electric weapon to the team's arsenal. Marty did well with Lesean McCoy, there are aspects of Wadley's game that are reminiscent of McCoy.

I mean, he's tiny. Like small and skinny. Would need a massive amount of time in the weight room if you want to make a feature back out of him. Don't see him get taken anywhere before round5.

5'10 190 is not the biggest problem in the world if you ask me.

I don't agree with the pro comparison at all because Lance is an idiot but that's fine. I'd take him in 3-4 personally but he will likely be taken later due to the sheer depth in this class

Ya i have him as a 4th or 5th round guy. Sometimes Pro comps are just there to predict their type of production. Not all comps are for style of play

in terms of the ravens i think what that AFC regional scout said is pretty fair... he's so small and doesnt have a lot of film showing him protecting the qb which is critical in getting him on the field in 3rd downs... there's no way he'd see snaps on the ravens at all - alex collins improved on 3rd down protection, buck is ok at it and danny woodhead's blitz pickup is one of the (many) reasons we picked him up last offseason... if he's too small to take regular punishment, cannot get on the field on 3rd downs then his only value is as an occasional change of pace back - someone will take a flier on him in day 3 and hope that there's something they can work with in terms of 3rd down blocking and maybe increasing his muscle mass a bit otherwise he's gonna struggle to see the field...

Man, guice intrigues me so much. I hate the idea of taking a rb at 16, but he's special and would fit like a glove here, he'd be the new face of the franchise by the end of year 2, the focal point AND fan/coach favorite. My heart says he's quite possibly the best pick at 16. I'm between guice, Derwin James, and mcglinchey/wynn, and guice I think is the best talent and biggest splash, but he's still a rb...

And he might have a very short lifespan given the beating he's taking.

If we stay at 16 then Guice is a legitimate consideration. We need to get Joe playmakers! there are other holes in this team (a lot of them) but this off season just get Joe weapons. Then this time next year if his play is still poor we know its on him.

Problem at 16 is Ridley IMO is long gone, I am just not a fan of Sutton or Washington.

I think Cain will start to move into the 20s as a selection so if we trade back I am all for it but if we stay at 16 then I think the only offensive players worth taking would be Guice or Wynn. I think Guice gives us a playmaker, RB isn't a huge need, but he is a difference maker and just seems a perfect Raven player!

But he plays for LSU......

Looking at the class from last year you can see why with production value that they had go where they went. Fournette had nasty stats and still put up numbers. I'm a big fan of Guice and feel like he will shoot up draft boards after the combine. I think the top end running backs were better last year but I believe this will be the overall better year for a back just due to the sheer number of quality out there. Hope you all enjoy.
