The OL Thread

The more I think about it, I would want Nelson at our 1st pick. He would solidify our line and be yanda's future replacement.
If we can't get barkley, Nelson is my next target

however if yanda cant play a full season we would have potentially alex lewis, jermaine eluemunor or nico siragusa purely as backups - now alex lewis may not be the guy for the future at guard but he sure as hell would be well above replacement level in the nfl

i havent spent enough time actually analysing barkley's film but from what ive seen of nelson id take him even over barkley

Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not get crazy now. barkley would change our offense so much. Aka make flacco pass less lol

i dunno man - nelson's a game-changing guard - think how zach martin turned derek mcfadden into a stud rb and allowed tony romo to throw less on their way to the divisional round

If both was on the board, and we pass on barkley for Nelson, I think the whole board will go crazy until we see who we can get in the 2nd / 3rd.

As much as I love barkley, I would probably side with a Nelson / rashaad penny combo over a barkley and lower tier guard in the mid rounds

id agree with that given the seemingly stronger depth in the class at rb than at guard

that being said while id rather nelson over barkley personally at this point, if they were both to be sitting there when we pick and barkley is thehigher rated player then we have to take barkley and hope the rest of the draft pans out in a similar way where guys who shouldnt fall to us fall to us

Ok, you can be the conductor and this will be a very long train, so I’m accepting many passengers. Of course you have wear Ravens colors.
 
I'd love to get Connor Williams in the first. We could have him start at RT to have one of the best pairs of tackles in the league. Then maybe a third or fourth rounder in at guard, or move Howard inside.
