The 2021 Offseason Thread

Madubuike's a 1-man wrecking machine and it's unfair when he's given reps against the 2nd team OL
we haven't had a young DT like Madubuike since drafting Ngata. Yes they play different positions, but you get what I'm saying. Mad's going to be a beast and known all around the NFL.

Daelin Hayes has put some serious work in this offseason athletically - he looks burstier than he did on his college tape (again with the caveat that there's no pads on)

He's going to excel like Zadarius Smith did. Oweh is going to be a superstar because he is my second child.

rookie standouts based on what i could see (couldnt see anything about the DBs really so none the wiser about any of that stuff):

Oweh
Hayes
Bateman

those 3 guys just looked like they fit in with the vets around them

it's hard to judge Cleveland just yet given they've not put pads on at all yet but he did look to be somewhat behind Phillips
Wade and Stephens I had no chance to see at all on anything meaningful
Tylan looks like he has something to him but definitely doesn't look like someone who'll factor in year 1
Mason was a bit of a non-entity but again it's hard to judge him until the pads come on

but those 3 guys at the top really look like something - and all 3 look like they've already made significant strides since college too

having seen that clip of bateman before the practice, i was expecting it to be him i came away most excited about but Oweh... I've never seen someone that size move that way - and it looks like he's been working on his hands too

and hayes is a pleasant surprise - was a guy that looked like a raven the whole way through the draft process (and that was without knowing he was a ravens fan) - but i never expected him to look like this straight away - i dont want to get ahead of myself but he doesnt look like your typical day 3 developmental edge - he looks like someone we can expect to contribute in year 1

Appreciate your opinion and insight, the snippets about Oweh and Hayes is exciting especially considering they’ll get to spend a season learning from Houston!

Any news on when he’ll be in camp?

Ok so I’m not out of my mind being most excited about Oweh so far. I came away saying the same thing, he looks like he’s just gonna be a menace, all over the field, really plays at a different speed than everyone else. Even if he’s not playing smart or technically sound he’s gonna fuck around and make a lot of plays anyway.

i think i was just really pleased how mentally sure and confident he was - making good decisions and reacting fast - shows me already that the game's not gonna be too fast mentally for him which is really comforting

also really reassuring to see his progress from penn state as a pass rusher too - the hand usage is already better and as we get into pads he's only going to improve

I think the main issue was that PSU is a really shitty football program coached by highly overrated coaches who can’t teach. Oweh finally gets real coaching and he’s already looking smarter and looking like he has came a long way with technique

What's up my people?

We had better hope Stanley is ready to play come the regular season.

Eh I mean we have a tougher schedule the back half. We should at least handle the Raiders pretty damn easily. No need to rush him or Boyle back only for them to get re-injured and end up hurting us in the tougher part of the schedule
