The 2021 Offseason Thread

houston, mcphee, madubuike, oweh, with PQ and bowser as blitz and coverage options.

that sounds like a really fun nickel rush front.

i think were gonna see a lot more 4 man rushes now, and we can still be exotic and disguised in our fronts and can pick and choose now when to get freaky and send a 6 man rush.

It’s insane what Eric decosta does every offseason, no matter how bleak the possibilities look. we have not that much draft capital, not much cap now or in the future, and we still manage to do the things we do to build the roster. No other team wheels and deals like the ravens, Eric himself is a wheeling and dealing mf but the entire organization make it such an easy sell to players as well. Like a well oiled machine.
Eric 'LaMachine' DeCosta

Bateman is quickly becoming the bane of Marlo’s existence lol

Wouldn't Marlo be the Bane to Bateman? (nerd joke)

Also, for people watching the training camp live stream today.. what your take on Josh Oliver. Watching him, along with all the praises he's been getting from teammates, I feel like hes going to be a valuable TE2/3 (depending on Boyles health) to this team... more than we realize.
For a 7th round pick at that.. man EDC be cookin'

Not many would understand that "nerd" joke... but damn if I didn't laugh at that LOL. Love it.

I saw a lot of receiving potential with a few of his targets/catches. He caught a ball at the goal line with at least one defender draped all over him/making contact with him, which is pretty impressive. He has some impressive speed, but I read somewhere that he is a bit clunky as far as movement/fluidity in movement goes, which I can attest to in what I saw from him.

he seemed to be making a lot of plays at camp today

Okay, that was good lol. And I want Oliver to succeed, but god I hope he stays healthy. He was a high pick for a reason

Idk if the video was posted but bruh

I love it when teams outsmart themselves... "oh, he runs a good 40, and is a baller, but he's not fast enough...." lmao. "Not fast enough" doesn't beat Marlon 1 on 1 on a pretty consistent basis like that

Steelers were one of the teams, it was reported they tried to give him $6M lmao... love the guy even more because he basically told the Steelers to go F themselves

ive seen a clip of him and lamar after the colts game - my guess is that houston wants to win but also wants to play with lamar

and all this without throwing void years onto deals and shifting significant money down the road

This is why a million teams wanted to interview Eric for their GM openings before he was promoted when Ozzie retired.

I suspect many were willing to pay him more than he received from the Ravens but Eric wanted to be a Raven for life .

Much respect for Mr DeCosta.

idk bisciotti has always compensated EDC well - every year when there was an interview request, steve would reportedly throw some more money at him just to make it clear that he was making the right choice to wait

dont forget calais campbell too

got to think jaylon ferguson's not making this roster

Bateman is quickly becoming the bane of Marlo’s existence lol

think it says a lot about bateman because no one else is giving marlon issues
and bateman tbf is the type of receiver that marlon has struggled with (as much as marlon struggles with anyone lol)

was just about to say something similar - bateman's not known for being hyper athletic but still ran sub 4.4 and you can see that burst and speed there - also shows you that the 40's meaningless in most situations - the 10 second split and the flying 20 are probably way more important measurements - bateman beat marlo there in the first 5 yds and then had the speed to retain separation
