Route running makes you that much more faster. He looked like Davante running that route. Adams isn’t the fastest but people don’t know that because of how easy they make it seem to beat people

Yea but he is still targeted alot imo.. seems like more than all the other top cbs in lg.. thats all im saying.

Because he shadows and plays a lot of Nickel. None of those top cbs he’s ranked beside are put in a position where their man can break quickly in either direction, Ramsey and Alexander and Howard and white are exclusively on the boundary, if their man doesn’t have a release plan and the talent to execute it then they won’t get targeted, it’s a lot easier for a slot receiver to separate.

that’s also part of why marlo has so many more tackles than those guys, he has given up the short pass and made the stop many times, which is not a loss on the play

Yes sir, those drills are fantastic. He’s always coaching them up too. Everg receiver he’s coached has went from rough/average route runner to great/elite just like that. Imagine what Bateman can do being a good route runner as it is. Those drills make the actual thing easier than the drills, like it’s a breeze lol

I can’t wait to see how they integrate these new coaches philosophies into the playbook. I know we’re all excited about Bateman, but man I think we’re about to see some really strong seasons from a lot of guys, maybe not statistically due to volume but just some really strong showings from Hollywood and Watkins, on top of andrews and Bateman.

I may be way too optimistic but at this point the OL feels like my biggest concern, I think our talent and our coaching is now there with the wr room.

They are the perfect coaches for our young guys, and we have plenty of young guns in that receiver room

There is no helping boykin, atleast not in the rte running department..i think proche (if he makes team)hollywood ,bateman and andrews will likely benefit the most from our new coaching.. not because theyre starters but because they already have what it takes plus the work ethic.. the coaching, will make it that much better
 
Oweh is so clearly the freakiest player on the field when you’re watching camp. He just looks so big and he covers so much ground and is looking like at the very least he’s gonna be a complete pain in the ass for offenses to deal with just because he’s gonna show up in places where most edge defenders can’t thanks to his speed. First impression with the 1s, he looks like he knows how to use his speed and size to play OLB, what remains to be seen if he can use his speed and size to play DE, because when he was playing a standup edge role he very much looked like he was in his element, chasing stuff down, backside contain and squeezing down on runs, quickly running a very fast qb down on a scramble, he showed all this in the very limited looks you could see from their live stream.

yes I know, it’s camp and padless, but this is speed, he’s got more of it than anyone out there save for a few wrs/dbs, and he’s using it well.

just been looking at the roster and the potential cuts etc.

looking at it makes me think there's not a ton of spots available and that there's some day 3 rookies whose places are going to be in danger

the cuts at DB are potentially gonna be brutal or else we're gonna be light at other positions (like DL)
and it feels like there's gonna be a OL on the 53 who comes from somewhere else

he and madubuike have awe-inspiring amounts of athleticism - you already saw madubuike able to track players down from behind last year that he should have no chance at - and now you can add oweh too

i cant wait to try and catch up and watch the stream from the stadium practice this afternoon

If he excels at OLB, I don’t give a rats arse if he can play DE, leave him at OLB

We have those 2, then we have queen who is also a twitchy explosive mf, and deshon Elliott who’s another missile when he sees something downhill, and marlo as well. We have so many players who can cover an absolute fuckload of ground in the box

we are the Steelers worst nightmare, I’m predicting 2-0 vs them with at least one blowout. We can man up across the board with them, and we can rally and tackle all of their slants and drags, and we also should be able to hammer their run game with ease

I mean like 3 point stance, engaging the OT and holding your ground at the point of attack, beating the OT 1v1 in a pass rush situation, that kind of thing. Not necessarily playing DE, just doing some of the things you ask of a DE, and frankly some of the more important tasks, im not doubting that can pin his ears back and rush the passer around the edge like a traditional edge rusher, but im saying that he’s yet to show he can, but the tasks that are more associated to a LB(pursuit, playing in space) come naturally. So if we took him looking for an edge rusher, we could have a ways to go before we get that.

Eh I get your point but for where we got him at and with our 2nd pick, we have ourselves a phenomenal player so I’m not gonna complain
