Week 10 Discussion (Other Teams)

JO_75

Hall of Famer
Week 10 of the 2017 NFL Season is upon us, and so far all the head coaches have survived without being fired. We have a strange playoff field that would see 3 teams end a combined 38 year playoff drought if the Bills, Rams and Jaguars all make it to January. How much crazier can this season get?

Seahawks @ Cardinals: Thursday Night Football sees a battle of the NFC West where the Seahawks are now vulernable, and Arizona is hoping father time holds off on AP to get through the rest of the season. While the Rams lead the way, both teams need a win to stay in the hunt for the NFC Wild Card race.

Saints @ Bills: If you miss the playoffs and get high picks, you better use them well. The Saints have done so and used it to wisely improve their defense. They now sit atop the AFC South while the Panthers and Falcons are chasing them. The Bills meanwhile, well much like Katy Perry, their hot and then their cold.

Packers @ Bears: Just imagine if Rodgers was out starting in week one, well then the Packers would be the 2011 Colts. It's simply amazing how teams get by on their star quarterback without a backup plan in case he gets hurt. Could the Bears win another one here?

Browns @ Lions: If the Bills were to make the playoffs and their 17 season drought, the Browns would become the team with the longest playoff drought in the NFL at 15. The Lions just beat up on a Rodgers-less Packers team but should feast on a 0-8 Browns team.

*Fun Fact* Could you imagine if the NFL schedule makers put this game in week 17, the Browns were 0-15 and would lose their final game to the only team in history to go 0-16?

Bengals @ Titans: Titans made us look silly out there, so it shouldn't be that much harder to do with the Bengals right? With the Bengals at 3-5, one has to wonder if a losing season would be enough to finally fire Marvin Lewis. Expect more chatter if they lose to the Titans on Sunday.

Steelers @ Colts: Oh the mystery of Andrew Luck was put to rest as he was shut down for the year. Brissett has somehow made the Colts competitive and we can only hope they follow in the steps of the Bears and Jaguars and upset the Steelers.

Jets @ Buccaneers: Ryan Fitzpatrick will take the field Sunday..... as a member of the Buccaneers against his old team the Jets. The Bucs are the most disappointing team of 2017 as many had high hopes for them heading into the season. Meanwhile the surprise of the season is the Jets, and they can move to .500 with a win over Tampa.

Vikings @ Redskins: Teddy Bridgewater is back on the active roster but we'll see Case Keenum still. The Vikings are in the thick of the Bye week battle along with the Rams and Saints while the Redskins look to add themselves to the wild card picture in Kirk Cousins' last season with the team.

Chargers @ Jaguars: Tom Coughlin knows how to get the best out of a team, and in one season he has the Jags sitting 5-3 in the hunt for the AFC South Title and a playoff spot. Chargers have managed to move to a new city but still are the same Chargers of San Diego.

Texans @ Rams: Much like the Packers, the Texans have nothing behind their star QB. So they have now reverted back to the "If only they had a QB" Texans team. Rams meanwhile are on the rise at 6-2, Wade Phillips once again is turning a defense into a force to be wreckened with and LA could see their first nfl playoff game in years.

Cowboys @ Falcons: The Super Bowl hangover has hit Atlanta hard and the Falcons sit 4-4 through 10 weeks. The Cowboys meanwhile are once again in the playoff picture but the ongoing legal battle with Zeke could mean serving his suspension in January.

Giants @ 49ers: This is the who wants the higher pick game? The 49ers sit 0-9 while the Giants sit 1-7. Ben McAdoo has apparently lost the team, and he may be the first Head Coach gone in 2017. Could the 49ers give the Browns the inside track to the number one pick by scoring the upset?

Patriots @ Broncos: Well this game is simple, the Broncos defense broke their back from carrying the team and now the team has been exposed for not having a good QB. Patriots meanwhile are the Pats and 7-2 should be easy here.

Dolphins @ Panthers: Panthers sit 6-3, they traded away star WR Kelvin Benjamin and look to keep up with the Saints in the division race. Dolphins meanwhile look to be on their way to being out of the playoff picture completely with a loss here.

out of nowhere doug marrone (and tom coughlin) has somehow turned the jags into a swarming defence and an aggressive offence - it makes it all the more crazy that they didnt go out and get a qb last year - i think they love fournette but if they'd got deshaun watson at #4 and then got cam robinson and then a rb like kareem hunt/dont'a foreman then id be hard pressed to say they wouldnt be better than they are already

anyway its a bit like the mike mularkey takeover 2 years ago in tennessee - an interim guy who doesnt get the juices flowing has actually ended up doing a great job in year 1/2 with their team

this year has been a lesson (moreso than usual) on good and bad coaching - so many of the differences between teams from this year to last year and between each other has been coaching

I think a big piece is that they finally hit on a lot of their free agent pickups and their draft picks.

They've gotten elite production from Campbell and Bouye in FA, great returns on Ngakou (sp?), Fournette, Ramsey, Jack, Fowler Jr., and many of their recent high picks.

Unlike the Cleveland Browns, the Jaguars have used their high picks and large cap space to acquire players that can actually live up to their billing.

...and in the process picked up couple guys I really wanted in Baltimore.

im interested to see how the seahawks oline holds up against this strong cards pass rush - not sure how the cards can put up any points though with drew stanton against the legion of boom even though earl thomas is out - especially because 5 days ago adrian peterson got 37 carries or something ridiculous like that (most in his career) - he's got an incredible staying power at this point but im not sure his 30+ body can recover from that workload on a short week

I think this game feels so weird because you expect this game to help settle the NFC West but yet both are chasing the LA Rams.

why cant we ever make plays like that jimmy graham td - we never manage to get opposing ds to give us mismatches like a tall tight end 1v1 vs a shorter db on a short route to the endzone - the only time ive ever seen us throw a play like that was with crockett gillmore early 2015 but even then he was kind of being thrown into double or triple coverage

Uh, Sherman out now, looks to be achilles, which wasn't great this week to start with.
That's why I'm scared for #22
