Clearly right now we have the Steelers kicking ass, the Pats, Chiefs, Titans, and Jags. I think we a great shot at getting in. One major advantage of our losses is that 2 were against NFC teams. We have the head to head over Miami and Oakland which is also amazing. I think all we need is to find a way to get to 9 wins. Look at the other teams in the race and their schedules, Buff and Miami both play each other twice, along with the Pats twice each. I think those games alone will but both teams at 7-8 losses (swept by Pats, split) The Raiders have a really tough stretch also, Pats, Broncos, Chiefs, Cowboys, Eagles. Looking good for us, we better not fuck this up.

yeah im not worried about miami - they are genuinely one of the worst teams in the league who lucked their way to 4 wins
oakland id be worried about if they could put 2 wins in a row together starting with the pats in mexico city this week

bills i was more worried about 2 weeks ago but now they've been beaten handily 2 weeks in a row and still have to play the pats

we're really in a race with the bills, raiders and ourselves at this point - if we get to 9 wins we could probably sneak into the 6th seed where we'd likely either be playing the titans/jags again or the chiefs...

we're the 7th seed currently which tells you all you need to know about the current state of the AFC

I said it in the other thread but I don't see the Bills hitting 9 wins and if they do we will most likely have the division tiebreaker over them. Even if the Dolphins and Raiders make it to 9-7 we beat both of them so when Buffalo doesn't the Ravens are in because they beat both of them. Basically go 5-3 when 7 of the games are favored which is VERY doable.

Yeah, there is definitely a posssibility we get in. The transition to the nfc being the better conference has been happening for a while, but it’s finally completed and in a big way.

The AFC, as a whole, is just garbage this year. We're very fortunate to still have an opportunity to make the playoffs. I'd like to say that we have a great chance at getting in with the remaining schedule, however, we haven't shown any consistency.

If we get in the playoffs we are winning the Super Bowl
Lmao like in 2012 when the team almost lost itself out of the playoffs by dropping 3 of the final 4 games and then they went on and won the super bowl. The Ravens do the reverse and win out 6 of the last 7 and then go onto the playoffs.

To be completely fair though the Ravens do match up well defensively with most AFC teams. It would be a matter of getting points on the board.

We have a good defense and January Joe to turn it up and make something out of our offense. Boom, Super Bowl.

But for real, we really could make some noise in the playoffs IF we make it. We could definitely get to the Super Bowl with how weak the AFC is. Winning it would be a much different story.

Yep anybody that makes it into the playoffs has a shot for sure.

I don't think we have a very good chance of getting into the playoffs. But if we do, I think we will be dangerous.

Most outlets say a bit over 50% chance based off of the other teams and their schedules. But still doesn't look good for a struggling team. Luckily though they should be healthy coming out of the bye.

If the Ravens make it in and Joe continues to regress, can we finally dismiss the fictional character that we've come to know as January Joe?

Yes if it ever actually stops being true then you dismiss it, though he would have to start regressing first.

I agree that we are likely to get the final playoff spot and have the ability to go to the Super Bowl, given our track records with Pittsburgh and New England. We play down to and below a lot of opponents, but we really tend to be at our best for them.

So my question is about personal preference. Would you rather get to the Super Bowl and lose, or would you rather avoid the pain of losing there by losing in the playoffs. I ask because my preference has generally been that I'd rather not be there than be there and lose. That opinion is probably buoyed by the fact that we're the only team that has made it to more than one Super Bowl and never lost. I am starting to think this year, I'd rather make it even if we were to lose. Regardless, I am still clinging to that thread of hope that this is 2012 all over again.

You always hope your team gets to the SB. I mean the hype and our team being focused on for two whole weeks is worth it.
