Playoff Picture

The game this week will say a lot about our chances.

We are favored in 6 of our next 7, win 5 and we are in.

To stop that the Bills need to win 6 of 7 with 2 against NE and 1 against KC remaining.

Miami needs to win 6 of 7 with the same 3 games remaining

Oakland would also meed to win 6 of 7 and I can see them winning 5 but not 6.

Basically that win against Oakland was HUGE.

That and the Dolphins win were huge, but the Oakland win seems a bit bigger at this point.

To simplify it the season rests with the play of the O line and WRs. Pass and run block, catch the damn ball and I think the D is good enough for the Ravens to win games. And guys have to stay on the field. :lipssealed:

I really think we should push for 5th seed. I know we lost badly to Jacksonville and we dropped our game against Tennessee but I would much rather play the Titans/Jags then the Chiefs.

I mean legitimately a 9-7 team may not even have to rely on tie breakers to win the 6th seed...

And lets remember we have the tiebreakers over BOTH the Dolphins and Raiders so when the Bills collapse if we tie both we still win out so 9-7 is 100% a playoff spot and 8-8 is probably 60% a playoff spot.

At this point I just want the team to play well and let the chips fall where they may. I’m sick of watching blown coverages, dropped passes, missed blocks, etc., etc., etc.. Just play a fundamentally sound game and I think the talent is there to beat most teams.

I mean to have a chance we’re gonna have to go at worst 4-3 down the stretch when we are favoured in 5 of 7 games left - that titans loss was pretty costly - the run in could well have been a piece of cake if we’d beaten the titans...

Yeah, If we can do this, I’d like to get the Jags back. That loss left a bad tase in my mouth.

If the Jags play the Ravens I am picking the Jags. The Jags have always had our number in the same way we have Miami's (and Indy's). Rather face the Steelers in Pittsburgh or the Cheifs or even the Pats on the road then face the Jags again. Hopefully someone else can do the favor of knocking them out.

We beat them last year and the year before they beat us because of the refs gift.

Well the playoff talk should only begin when we have a realistic shot at it. I don't think our team has displayed the consistency yet to even fathom if they're likely to have a winning season. Yes I get that the schedule looks much easier on paper, but really? We lost to Mitch Trubisky in Baltimore. We lost to Jacksonville in a blow out! We lost to the Squealers in Baltimore! We got mauled by the Vikings led by Case Keenum and then lost to the Titans!
Let's all take a moment and realize this isn't a team that can be relied upon to win winnable games against inferior (on paper) teams. They could potentially lose 5-6 of the next 7 games and no one would be the wiser. I am not suggesting that we have absolutely no chance of winning 5-6 either and make it to the playoffs. All I'm saying is we need to see a degree of consistency with this team and better offensive play to talk playoffs. Let Joe start playing like the 10 yr veteran that he is, and then we can all be bullish about this season. But, all of you know as well as I do, Joe has yet to show that he can play like a high level QB yet.

Do we really want to run the table. I mean I can’t handle Marty for another year.

I mean if we are making the playoffs we are gonna be the 6th seed most likely which means we’ll face one of the top 3 records - either the steelers, pats or chiefs most likely - only if the jags go on a tear for the rest of the year would we face them on wildcard weekend

Yes but in those games the Jags despite finishing terribly were always playing us close and we always looked off against them. They are finally not terrible so now they are able to blow us out.

Their defence was underrated til this year - the only hope we have is that Blake bortles starts looking like 2015/16 bortles and just gives the Ravens the ball back

Yes the games were close, but our secondary is much better this year.
