Playoff Picture

I think you kind of hit on it, but the Ravens looked really, really bad against winning teams prior to Detroit. They looked totally unconvincing on offense and more often than not put the defense in really difficult positions by turning it over more often than they needed to.

Detroit totally caught me off guard when the Ravens jumped out to a 20 point lead at halftime. Like, shit, when have we seen that? This win gave me a little hope because Detroit is a good team with an elite quarterback and the Ravens made him useless until Jimmy went out and when Jimmy did go out, the offense yet again stepped up to help secure a faltering defense.

I think you're right- if the Ravens play KC or Tenn, I think the Ravens could win. Against a NE or Pitt? Depending on how they close out the season, I could be convinced.

it's nice that for the first time in a while we get to be a "form" team (if only for 3 games lol)

i think we have a very unfair advantage compared to literally every other AFC playoff team, and that is that we are super familiar, and super competitive with the patriots and steelers. the patriots will be sitting at home watching the wild card round, and praying to all things holy that the ravens dont win, and if/when we do, they collectively shit their pants. the steelers will be less nervous but definitely nervous. neither of them wanna see us, all the other afc teams they wont give a shit about.

make no mistake, we'll be the most feared playoff team in the eyes of the 1 and 2 seeds

id love it if the patriots fans shit themselves and want their team to get the 2 seed so that they dont have to play us in the divisional round

The fans won't feel that way, the team will. Patriots fans, despite having plenty of reasons to be scared of us... are not scared of us. They don't notice patterns, like multiple playoff losses at foxboro and winning 2 other games by means of miracle, repeated cheating, etc.

Things don't add up to them, it's just Brady is god, gronk dindu nuffin, and 5 rings.

I think your last statement is mostly true through the fans eyes.

This may very well be true but I think with a reasoning that's a little different. AFC is collectively bad this season and the Ravens are probably the team that sucks the least when we play close to our abilities. We haven't shown anything that would make NE shit their pants, though.

Our uniforms make NE shit their pants.

It doesn't matter what team were fielding that season, NE is worried about the ravens in the playoffs.

I think KC or Tenn we would take that one, they have legit looked really bad.

LA on the other hand is a different story. They're red hot right now and I could imagine their defense giving us huge issues. It's a truly underrated unit and they have great pass rushers to go along with spectacular cover corners.

In terms of our play against winning teams, oh, you're definitely right but I mean, we've seen the Ravens offense and Joe surprise us sometimes, maybe they come out and pull a stunner on us? I don't know but from the looks of it, I don't think we have much of a shot against Pitt or NE.

Regardless, the AFC is very weak this year.

And if our offense plays 75% as well as they did vs the lions and we can overcome the loss of jimmy, then we are dangerous. Teams that force turnovers and play hard hitting physical defense win in January, for the most part.

Agreed about the chargers. If they make their way in, they are gonna make some noise. I can totally see them pulling an 08 cardinals, matter of fact I think they are the closest thing I've seen to them
The Chargers are a very interesting team because they're really unlucky that they started out 0-4, because they had it rough at the start of the year. The Chiefs were red-hot when they played them and the Eagles are not a joke. Miami and Denver are blemishes but I'll brush it off considering that they were 3-0 and 4-2 respectively at the start of the year.

Outside of that, at a talent perspective, they're pretty much among the top 5 IMO, not a whole lot of weaknesses with that team and it's showing. They're the type of team I can imagine bouncing us out of the wild card round.

Now how could you be scared of a team that doesn't exist anymore? LOL, but I don't blame you. Chargers defense is nothing to scoff about and Rivers can still do major damage. If only they didn't have such a horrible start.
They have a great QB in rivers, receivers, and most of all, a defense who is going to get him the ball back and a run game.

Honestly, I'm tired of people talking about Tom Brady doing more with less, that has been Philip Rivers for the past five years. Rivers talent and ability is so under-appreciated it's just ridiculous.

I remember when some people on BR.com said Joey Bosa was overrated and I said blasphemy.
Bosa would have won us a couple of games this year on his own.

I thought Bosa was overrated in the sense that people were hyping him as the perrenial 15+, challenge for 20 sacks a year guy. I saw 10-12 yearly.

I may have undersold him.

I thought he'd be a flat out bust.

As for playoff picture, I hope Titans win the South because I don't want to see the Jags defense again. Feel they match up well against us, if we make it.

I've been trying to tell people that Rivers is severely underrated for years.

Yeah he is already at 11.5 sacks with 4 games to go lol he may hit that 15 sack mark. I really wanted him in Baltimore. I was shocked with SD took him and cried a little bit.

The ones who said that were off their fucking rockers and just trying to talk themselves out of liking a prospect who was reliastically in our range so they could bash ozzie

I love Stanley but I really wanted Ramsey or Bosa those were my two favorites. Bosa on the otherside of Suggs, or Ramsey on the other side of Jimmy Smith....

Man that draft had some top tier talent. We came away with a good player. But there is just something about watching defensive player film over an offensive player.
