Coming off a bye week and having in absentia regained the lead in the AFC North.

Vikings playing on SNF tonight.

An opportunity to get the bad taste of the bengals beatdown out of our mouth.

Feel like we've been one of the better teams post bye but Minn specifically worries me a little.

We caught HELL last week for the beating the Bengals put on us. VERY curious to see what the talking heads say about Cinci this week.

Yeah I really hope our secondary shows up... Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are going to do some damage if we don't show up defensively. Our defense has to have that same kind of performance we had against the Chargers in order for us to win.

Pretty sure Harbs is one of the best out of the bye during time. Interestingly one of the worst going into the bye, but i need a fact check on that

Never-mind he’s .500 in games before the bye

Tackling in the secondary hopefully was addressed. Minnesota has been a very conservative offense this year so they will play the short field, need to make sure our guys wrap up.

Watch this be some wild ass Game of the Year type of game ala our 2013 matchup with them.
That wasn’t game of the year, that was one of the worst games ever played followed by the biggest collapse of tackling ability ever seen in 2 minutes from both teams

Hunter might be out for the season. Barr was looking fast last night and not second guessing at all. Secondary didn’t play well. Barr and Everson were the bright spots. Best friend is a Vikings fan and said we should have a field day against their defense. Hopefully OUR defense shows the fuck up

They’re being let off the hook from what I can tell

Given they let Cooper Rush complete a game winning drive, I'd hope we can have success against their defense. Hunter being out is huge, Barr is going to give us troubles but I'm more concerned about our defense against Jefferson/Thielan.

Probably because its somewhat predictable. It's like a pro sports bettors paradise. Anytime you get a big, emotional win over a tough opponent, the next week, teams typically play like shit. Maybe the expectation isn't that they'd lose, but I was in very early on hammering betting the Jets at like a +10 point spread or whatever it was.
It's the NFL. It's the ultimate week to week league. Teams are never as good as the best you saw them (like we're not as good as what you saw us to do the Chargers), but they're also never as bad as what the worst you saw them at (like us against the Bengals, or maybe the Raiders). It's a season of peaks and valleys. Nobody blows out everybody all the time, and nobody gets blown out all the time.

There was no earthly reason for the Packers to beat the Cardinals on Thursday. But they did.
There was no earthly reason for Trevor Siemian and Jameis Winston to outplay Tom Brady on Sunday. But they did.
There was no earthly reason for the Vikings to lose at home to a QB who had never thrown an NFL pass off a bye week. But they did.
There's no reason for the Lions, who have been very competitive in losses to the Rams, Ravens and Packers, to lose by 38 at home to the Eagles, who scored 44 points, double the most they've scored in any week since week 1. But they did.

And these examples are just from one week. I can give you multiple from any week of any season.

Most analysts don't care about whether the Bengals lose to the Jets because good teams lose to bad teams every week, and it's just for the course during a season. It's an exception to the rule, not the rule. It's not like anybody should write off the Bengals because of one bad loss, just like nobody really cared that much that the Ravens lost to the Bengals either. It's a divisional game. I'm sure the Ravens will lose one or two more divisional games before the end of the year. That's expected.

Any time any NFL "fan" tells you that they're certain something is going to happen because "well look what X team did to Y team, that means Z team has no shot", look them in the eye, call them a moron, and then bet a large sum of money against what they think. You'll thank me later.

Precisely the reason why there's no layups and every game should be taken seriously. What did or didn't happen against Dallas will likely have no impact on our game. Vikings are just like a lot of teams in this league, including the Ravens... inconsistent. Lose a tight game to Cincy in OT in week 1, come extremely close to beating Arizona on the road in week 2, blow out the Seahawks (with Russel Wilson) at home, get crapped on by the Browns, barely beat the Lions, put up 34 on a great defense in Carolina, shit the bed against Dallas.

Not close to the kind of team you can just post, play average, and roll.
