The Second Half, The First Half and Yet More Overtime

Deshaun Elliot out for the season per Harbaugh

If I’m not mistaken this happened on the play where the ref missed Elliot touching the FB on the knee when he fell down after catching that longish pass. Seems if the back judge blows the play dead like he should have the injury never happens.

thought that straight away as soon as i saw him on the sideline

after my adrenaline dropped, some things I jotted down during the game:
The Oline sucks, it was only able to resolve issues when the Te came in to help protect or create space for the Rb, constantly outmatched.
It's not just a matter of injuries, even with healthy stanley or rbs, they would still suck. Big problem to solve in pre season.
the defensive line looked better with Madubuike, Washington, Ellis, the closest to pressure was with them. Campbell lost his way.
Oweh constantly doubled and even tripled, we must take advantage of it.
I liked Bowser, Bynes and Queen's game, somewhat lower Board.
only Young was safe, in coverage and in tackles, the rest alternated good and bad.
in defense it seems that it is a matter of simplifying things, so many "intelligent systems" of Wink seem to me that they were discovered, there is a lot of investment to yield so many great plays, better execution in simple and basic things.
in attack, the teams stack the box for us, and mark us andrews and marquise, sol it is necessary to open the game, duvernay, bateman, ricard, Tomlison, they gave us a lot of paths to take and complicated the rival defense

yeah we did a lot of 2 man routes with max protect using ricard or a TE as an extra blocker with the back staying in (and maybe leaking out late too)

Have to wonder how do The Ravens handle the Tyson Willaims and Leveon Bell situations now. I dont' think Williams had a carry in this game but Bell had some bright spots in this game.
Williams had a couple carries, but Bell was much better.

it's like disqualifying any good play any team makes against the ravens because we've got 30 bajillion players on i/r...
and of course the announcers didn't mention that at all. All they did was talk about the injuries to the Vikings defense.

was odd - i wonder if it's because these guys hadnt watched any ravens games or anything because they havent had to because they're on FOX - but weirdly absent any context - just lots about vikings injuries

Without Lamar, this team would look a heck of a lot different. He single-handedly kept Harbaugh’s job for him in 2018

Head coaches need good quarterback or good players. If not then one of the best head coaches of all time would have went to playoffs without Tom Brady last year

they did say it's been about a year since they have done a Raven game, but they are supposed to be professionals and do the research.

Any update on Madubuike's injury. Looked minor but I'm not sure if he came back or not.

Honestly I don’t think anyone here can possibly think we can go far in the playoffs with the laundry list of starters on IR , now including a good Safety in Elliott.
Fortunately the AFC seems to be mediocre so that helps .

lol - so many big teams losing every week in random ways

every team is incredibly beatable

i dont think it's likely with all the wear and tear and injuries but i cant call it impossible at all at this point - not with how lamar's been playing

It's sad we lost Elliott, the defense couldn't have afforded another loss.

Nice to see Lamar and the offense make second half adjustments but they need to be better starting games, we've been catching breaks against some sub-par teams but that won't cut it with the 2nd half of the schedule, it's brutal from here on out. Lamar needs to be sharper on his throws to start the game.

Hollywood is such a great late game performer and he's be really good at YAC, loves how he uses the boundary, he's got special balance and quickness that you just can't teach.

Can't wait for Watkins to come back, it will aid our short field passing game more which we need to start using more of, especially if teams will continue to play more 2 man zone against us.

Glad to see Andrews was okay too, I hope he's not too hobbled.

Yeah maybe except for the Rams which you wouldn’t see unless you made the Super bowl

i legit cannot believe the bills lost to the jags - couldnt even get close to 10 points - the same jags that got ripped apart by Geno Smith lol - the same jags that had their QB leave the game with a serious looking ankle injury

id be absolutely fuming

An ugly game to start but turned around at the end. I was watching in person today.

Defense didn’t look great in the stat book but a lot of that was buoyed by 2 big plays. Need to get more pressure on the QB as well.

Offense started sluggish but rebounded in the 2nd half. Hollywood was right though. Lamar had nowhere to go with the ball most of the first half. Glad they adjusted.

Not usually a blame the refs guy but thought they were a little off today. Missed a blatant hold on Calais on the long TD pass.
