I’ll have to look more into Ebiketie. How does he fare against the run? That was one of the things that I liked about Ojabo. I feel like he’s already a disciplined and good run defender

i would say that's ebiketie's biggest weakness - he penetrates a lot in the running game and shoots gaps but really struggles to hold up at the point of attack and stack and shed and hold the edge - also not really sure he's too confident in how he reads the run game... really passive and hesitant in the running game when not asked to just shoot into the backfield

ebiketie to me looks very much like he'll have to begin his career as a pass rush specialist - i really like him as a pass rusher for all sorts of reasons and he's the best bender by far of the senior bowl EDGE group that i've watched so far and shows a ton of intelligence with his pass rushing in how he sets tackles up and how he uses his moves but to me he feels like a liability right now in the running game

That would make sense why Ojabo is regarded as a better prospect. I would love Ebiketie as a target if we decide to double dip. His skill set could be useful with all the top teams passing as often as they do. I know it’s early in the process but where is Ebiketie expected to get drafted? 3rd-4th?

what worries you about ojabo? is it the inexperience/inconsistency or something else?
Inconsistency, he has a lot of snaps where I’m just like wtf was that? That and he’s VERY thin

Well he’s pretty trash against the run but I don’t think ojabo is gonna be a run defender in the nfl just because of his size

correct me if I’m wrong but he’s the same size as Oweh and from what I watched he played the run well. Played disciplined, stacked and shedded well. Is there anything on film suggesting his run defense won’t translate? Or just a projection because his size?

no idea where ebiketie's gonna go - right now i see lots of places that have him in the 3rd but think he's going to move up a ton of media boards once they see him at the senior bowl and combine

i see it the same as you tbh - looks powerful and pretty stout from the limited film ive seen so far

i think he seems thin because of how long he is - and there's probably room to add something to his frame but from what ive seen so far he plays with good hands and strong power at the point of attack in the running game - i see explosive and powerful hands in the running game and he uses his length well

hands seem a lot less precise as a pass rusher right now - he's a bit hectic but i understand that given that he's fairly new to the sport - at the moment he's all explosion and dip and bend as a pass rusher

Just to circle back to the original point @JoeyFlex5 was making - i do think Ojabo's probably not technical enough or ready enough to be taken quite as high as some are suggesting - not sure what i truly think of him yet but he feels too raw as a pass rusher to be considered a top 10 type prospect based on the film ive seen so far - looks super exciting and has a lot of plus qualities and a massive ceiling but not sure he can be put in the upper echelons with some of the blue-chip guys

also fun fact given some of their similarities as prospects - apparently odafe oweh and david ojabo were high school team-mates lol
now that is very interesting. I wonder how many high school teammates end up playing together in the NFL. I would say it's happened, but it's pretty rare.

Watching Petit-Frere against Michigan and it's amazing seeing how much better Ojabo was towards the end of the season - his growth is really really impressive - with Ojabo it's really his timing with his hands that stops me putting a massive grade on him - and i worry a little about whether there's power in his hands... especially when he attempts to rip it seems like he cant quite clear the hands from him and if he could then i think we'd he'd be legitimately in play in the top 5-10 (he still might be for some people)

hutchinson also killed petit-frere all day - maybe shouldnt have started with the michigan tape for my first impression of NPF lol

Fuck me dead he’s a monster.

I can’t see too many players being higher on my wish list by the time the draft comes around. I’ve been up and down on every player I want except for walker, ekwonu, and booth, and I think the latter 2 will be unavailable to us and my hype for walker just keeps going up.

Ebekitie won't make it to round two

i think he will make it out of round 1 - he's going to be limited in terms of his year 1 playing time because he's not going to be on the field on running downs because he cant set the edge - which means he ultimately is a pass rush specialist for at least year 1 and that makes his evaluation somewhat trickier especially when there's probably 5 or 6 EDGE guys that are going to be rated higher than him on most team's boards who do offer value in both phases
