No way of knowing until he comes back and faces live bullets. It will be as much a mental recovery as a physical one, many are never the same after a bad lower body injury.
 


im assuming this is a re-injury for hayes because he looked like he was moving around ok pre-game before being declared inactive last week

with oweh doubtful we literally only have 3 EDGE guys available and McPhee has not played much
 
Has it been confirmed that Tyler Huntley is starting tomorrow or is there still that chance Lamar may start? At this point, I'd rather start Huntley and if we win, then go with Lamar next week in order to try to win the AFC North.

i mean ill put it this way - lamar's listed as questionable, was incredibly limited in practice on wednesday and didnt look comfortable even just moving between drills, hasn't practiced since (including the walkthrough on friday) and is now more than 3 weeks removed from any sort of major practice work

Why would the Ravens allow tape of that to go out?? It could be a fake out even without the practice. Optimism abounds after a few beerz!

Murray I think is just a terrible fit for this offense. He's much better of running it under center but we barely do that. He's also bad in terms of yards after contact and doesn't really make guys miss. No jump-cut ability to speak of, he just lowers his head and runs. His game is honestly ancient and it's no wonder why his snaps have gone down.

Freeman has gotten faster but he's in the same boat. He does have solid cutting ability, angles, and making guys miss but he's lost more than a step at this point in his career. Some people have said we should bring him back next year as a No.3 but I think we can do better in the 4th or 5th round of the draft.

I think EDC tried to address the RB position but there was no one really available. I think Texans claimed Royce Freeman and the Dolphins claimed Philip Lindsay so we didn't really have options. I wouldn't trade a draft pick for a rental when we could get someone better in the later rounds of the draft.

I'm more upset at Roman and Harbaugh for not finding a way to get Ty'son more involved, even with his issues at least he gives you something the other guys don't. Maybe even Nate McCrary could have been more involved but at least someone with burst and speed so you can at least make the defense respect the run game more.

Hard agree on Freeman, I appreciate his effort and durability, but we can do better. I was curious to see what Justice Hill was gonna do with his opportunity but that ship has sailed.

The Raiders game with Tyson really fooled us all

also worth pointing out that neither freeman nor lindsay have been particularly good where they've been picked up either

i think the ravens post-bye wanted to get more looks at nate mcrary but injury issues at other positions and covid have made it tough to elevate him - what i dont understand with tyson is why if he's completely useless have we not cut him for the roster spot

in terms of devonta freeman i think there's some fondness when people talk about retaining him because he's done an ok job and helped us in a tough spot when we had very little else and was an important part of the chargers, colts, vikings and bears wins - but he does nothing on special teams and doesnt have the juice to really do much more than get what's blocked - if he plays snaps for us in 2022 then something's gone wrong again and we've seen he doesnt have enough to carry this running attack without help

and i think it's almost a guarantee that we're taking a RB somewhere on day 3 - Dobbins, Edwards and Hill all coming off season-ending injuries... Williams and McCrary don't play special teams and haven't shown much as runners or as receivers

How do you address the situation? Jk was hurt last preseason game and Gus goes down the week after in practice. Completely forgot about the other giy too and I'm not looking him up. Aren't many great options at that point and then you need to consider the teams running style. It doesn't make sense to trade a good pick for a back with 2 guys coming back next year and the best choice to me is move forward with you have and draft one late the following year. No way I'm blaming EDC for not having a backup plan for losing his top 3 backs a week before the season starts.
