after rewatching that pick, I agree, Hollywood absolutely ran the wrong route.

I gotta feeling that is Marquise ad libbing at the top of the route, absolutely dusting the DB. Huntley doesn't have the experience for it and puts it in the wrong spot accordingly. I have a feeling that Lamar throws that for a TD. Could be wrong

Tbh this was my read as well. One of those subtle things you lose when your starter is out and you don't have that level of chemistry.

you can just tell by where he is setting to throw the ball. There is a shot from behind the QB

im sorry but they just showed another clip of huntley throwing it and you can see from his reaction that he knew he got it wrong - think it might have come out of the hand wrong or something

but he knew he'd thrown a pick as soon as it left his hand

Two things. Aside from Brown going beyond the reasonable distance that Huntley can throw that route looks like it was supposed to take advantage of the gap in the defense which was right where Huntley threw it. I have been watching that play over and over (I like having multiple TVs) and the playcall and the throw look perfect.

Looks like a sluggo as well, I don’t know why you place the ball in that spot on an out or comeback route if thats what he thought, seems to me like he just didn’t place it where he needed to be.
