Week 18 Discussion (The Season Finale)

Hall of Famer
Week 18 is finally here and the regular season finale kicks off Saturday with two NFL Games. The AFC is basically still a crapshoot as anyone can still win Home Field with a Sunday Night showdown determining the final spot. The last wild card spot in the NFC comes down to the 49ers & Saints.

Saturday Night Football
Chiefs @ Broncos:
The Chiefs are looking to rebound following a tough loss to the Bengals. With a win and Titans loss on Sunday, KC can secure home field in the AFC. Denver looks to play spoiler in what could be Vic Fangio's last stand as Head Coach. Is Denver ready for a new direction or perhaps they keep Fangio with the hopes of getting their new Peyton Manning in 2022?

Cowboys @ Eagles: The Cowboys clinched the NFC East, Philly clinched a playoff spot last week in Nick Sirianni's first year as Head Coach. This could bite the NFL once again as both could be resting starters for this game. Not much here other than just another NFC East primetime game.

Sunday 1PM Games
Bengals @ Browns:
With the Bengals choosing to rest Joe Burrow before the playoffs, Baker getting surgery, the starting quarterbacks for this game are Brandon Allen & Case Keenum. Not much here, the only question is whether Baker Mayfield returns as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns in 2022.

Packers @ Lions: Lions fans haven't had much to cheer about this season but with multiple first round picks and cap room, giving Dan Campbell more talent to work with should be the next step in rebuilding. The Packers seemingly are treating this as a preseason game, choosing to play their starters a little bit on Sunday.

Bears @ Vikings: A game in which both head coaches could be gone on Monday is a real possibility. Sure, some will argue that he should get another year due to the drafting of Justin Fields but the reality is, there has been no progression under Matt Nagy. You could say the same for Minnesota under Mike Zimmer. These two teams will be ones to watch if they go in a new direction in 2022.

Washington @ Giants: A NFC East showdown in the meadowlands as the Giants host Washington to close out the season. The Giants are keeping Joe Judge but are losing GM Dave Gettleman to retirement, so it will be interesting how the new GM views Daniel Jones who missed the rest of the season due to a neck injury. Washington's disappointing season comes to an end as they fell off one year after winning the NFC East in 2020. Both teams look to improve in 2022.

Colts @ Jaguars: There is hope! The Colts haven't won in Jacksonville since 2014, so yes Baltimore there is hope here. Jacksonville looks to keep their home winning streak alive despite the fans disapproval of keeping GM Trent Baalke. "The Clown Game" is what today's game is being called by fans, for Baltimore's sake, the Jaguars better not be clowning around against a red hot Colts team.

Titans @ Texans: Tennessee needs to avoid the Texans trap that the Chargers fell for a couple weeks ago. With the Chiefs winning Saturday, a Titans loss would mean the AFC Playoffs go through Arrowhead once again. The Titans haven't had the one seed since 2008, and giving them another week with Derrick Henry coming back? This is going to be a scary team in the playoffs.

4:25PM Late Games
Saints @ Falcons:
Jets @ Bills:
49ers @ Rams:
Patriots @ Dolphins:
Seahawks @ Cardinals:
Panthers @ Buccaneers:

If the Bengals somehow get the 1 seed I’m fucking done

They are resting Joe Burrow tomorrow and starting Brandon Allen. Now obviously if the Chiefs lose tonight, they could change their mind. More than likely this means the Titans barring an upset by Houston, will be the 1 seed.

The way the Broncos are playing, I don't think Fangio should be fired. He deserves a shot with a real franchise Quarterback, period. It's clear the players haven't given up on him like most head coaches who are about to be fired.

LOL... the Eagles are basically resting their starters and the Cowboys are playing their starters. The NFL once again gets screwed in a primetime slot by the tanking Eagles lol.
