Good pick in Wims. He's been the prospect I've been deciding on during each of my past three picks.

Marcell Frazier is a really good pick. I was surprised when I watched him, he's got upside as an interior rusher.

9 picks in, the Saints decide to make their first defensive pick of the draft. It sounds weird, but it somewhat feels apropos considering my focus on defense via trades and FA. Siran Neal may be turning into one of my bigger unknown crushes in this class. And I didn't stumble upon him until yesterday. He was the Nickel SAM for Jacksonville State and played basically six different positions. There isn't that much to go off of tape wise, but when there is, there's a little bit of everything. Press man from the slot and the outside, single-high, zone drops again bunch sets from SCB, shedding blockers and filling lanes in run support. There are even some gunner clips on ST. There are inevitable flaws, i.e. getting a little handsy despite being in the hip pocket. But I'm personally very intrigued by Neal. He also looks the part at 6'0, 206. The 40 is passable for his position at 4.56, and the 40.5 vertical means he should be able to hang with the F-TEs. And here's a clip of him bodying James Washington at the Senior Bowl for good measure (Link).

I was looking at him as a possible WLB/safety convert option way back when, and there was a really good breakdown, including clips, on Twitter of him. If I can find it again later (if I don't forget), I'll shoot it your direction. Struggled as a true single-high safety, but can certainly play there in certain situations. Definitely a better chess piece around the LOS.

Let me know once you do, and I appreciate the heads up. I've only seen a few clips, including cut ups during an interview and some Senior Bowl highlights. I feel like single-high would probably be his worst usage, so that's not a surprise. I assume he played there prior to the switch this year. Like you, I feel like he's better a moneybacker, where I'd also stick him in the slot against the bigger bodies.

Pick will be in shortly
