what are the rules around trading free agent acquisitions (or is that just not allowed lol) - how do you calculate base or do we just assume the entire contract is unguaranteed base salary?
If you trade or cut FA acquired player you only save half of what you paid.what are the rules around trading free agent acquisitions (or is that just not allowed lol) - how do you calculate base or do we just assume the entire contract is unguaranteed base salary?
Great question. As described above, you absolutely can. But in order to prevent teams from signing FAs, trading them, and having the same cap space, we make each team eat half of their salary upon trading or releasing them. It's basically like eating the presumed guaranteed money.what are the rules around trading free agent acquisitions (or is that just not allowed lol) - how do you calculate base or do we just assume the entire contract is unguaranteed base salary?

Good point, you're very welcome.i saw that was for cuts but i wondered about trades - thanks for confirming

You've got it. It's strange when you put it to paper, but we are losing and gaining money at every corner with every transaction. Like I've traded a player the normal way which should've saved me .24 Stars, but since it just didn't qualify, I had to save nothing. It's one of those situations wherein we're having to balance out what would work in theory and in practice, and it's one of those aspects where we had to consider giving everyone easier calculations for the sake of overall accuracy of said calculations.just to check though - say i was to hypothetically put one of these rbs on the trade block - like mckinnon - i signed him for 5.5 stars so when im trading him away (not that i am lol)
would it be me saving 3 stars and then the team he's trade to is only on the books for those 3 stars?
it would be an odd situation of the base salary and the dead money both rounding up lol so a 5.5 star contract = 6 stars?
or have i got something wrong...
Yes of course. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew you couldn’t have more than 90you know I'm joking![]()
Yes that is correctim assuming if we had the highest bid for a player before the final 5 and no one bid on that player then we can add them straight to our roster now then?
LBs are all off-the-ball LBs, whether they be MLBs or OLBs. DL encompasses 4-3 DTs and 3-4 DEs. Edge includes 4-3 DEs and 3-4 OLBs.So what exactly separates LB, DL and Edge? I understand LB and DL being separated but are we really going to have a FA period for DTs, then one for MLBs then a separate one for DEs and OLBs?
Too many players to have in one FA period, let alone two.So what exactly separates LB, DL and Edge? I understand LB and DL being separated but are we really going to have a FA period for DTs, then one for MLBs then a separate one for DEs and OLBs?
Full order is near the mid-bottom of the rules threadwhich free agent group is next?
