Short-Sighted are the calls for Lamar as some sort of answer to Ravens "D" rated offense.
The Offense is a MonoRail instead of a Balance Attack.
-If it cannot run the results are "D"ismal.
-Winners are Balanced and able to sustain both run and pass.
-Defenses are kept off balance with multi-pronged attacks.
-Lamar only Drives the MonoRail and eliminates the balance. He is a "C" rated passer with problems with efficiency on long passes/ accuracy.
-Of course the Raven Heads have done a POOR "D" job of supplying WR receivers able to run routes, move the offense deep downfield and catch. Of course too the Ravens Heads have very poor routes and schemes for WR game.
In General the Ravens NEED
1. Change in Leadership for more creativity in offense and balance in payroll distribution between defense and offense. Paying Lamar will ruin Long Term any chance at this balance and supplying WR of some measure of quality.
2. Sign Smith long term. This is with Queen and Hamilton the mainstay for the future defense. The need is for younger DE and more consistent CB. 3. Trade Stanly. When (?) he plays, he is good. BUT he is injured and looking for a place to happen in the last couple years.
4. This may well be the True FIRST ITEM for consideration. Steve Biscotti needs to RE-EVALUATE his organization. The organization at best has provided Also-Rans for too long at best. Squeaking through to the playoffs is not a goal. It is a Frustration. How can you enjoy One-And-Done Playoffs? It is like Kissing Your Sister constantly. The organization is in need of a REFRESHER.
