Jets have the sixth most cap space in the NFL...

And they really need it. Since the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers his current cap implications are 1.7 million this season and 108 million in 2024. That obviously can't stand. The Jets MUST rework Aaron's contract. Also Quinnen Williams has outplayed his rookie deal. He was probably the 2nd best DT in the league last season. He truly broke out last season. He didn't play well against the Ravens at the start of the season. Too many new faces, too little chemistry with a full compliment of new players. Starting against the Brownies, Quinnen went on a tear. He became a superstar. His best game IMO was against the Packers. He torched the Packers OL all game long. He's earned a new long term deal and the DT market has been set. Simmons from the Giants, a good player, got 23 million per. However, Quinnen Williams is clearly better than Simmons. My feeling is the Jets will get him resigned to a 5 year deal averaging between 25 and 30 million per. After that? There's rumors out there that the Jets are not opposed to signing Dalvin Cook? Breece Hall is coming off an ACL tear and probably won't be great at the beginning of the season. Dalvin Cook would be an excellent 2nd RB. Just not sure JD isn't already devoted to Mike Carter (4th round pick 2021), Bam Knight (UDFA last year), and Izzy Ibanikanda (5th round pick this year). My belief is if the OL can stay healthy they won't need Cook as talented as he is. Carter and Knight are really good Breece understudies.....
