2024 NFL Draft Gameday Thread

What position will the first pick be?

It would be fair if they leave a Samoan alone, so we can continue the trend of picking island boys for our O line.

On that note, NFL Academy AU/NZ opening later this year in Queensland. A lot more really great athletes will end up in college football and ultimately, NFL.

I honestly thought with all the calls and time taken in the Dallas war room that we traded with them

I was thinking the same.

Shame on us. We should’ve know it’s because Jerry Jones wanna have the star on the TV screen as long as possible.

i came back around on him late in the process when reevaluating the OTs

think, similar to blake fisher, he has a fairly decent floor - athletic with range in his pass sets and recovery athleticism, pop in his hands - biggest negatives for me are some potential anchor issues and some over aggression

think he also has some potential upside as a LT although he was a RT at washington
Yeah I was worried about the base which is why I might be a tad lower on him. Worry that he's going to need to bulk up a tad before we really see who he is.

Footwork can get sloppy at times too but the skillset is there more often than not so hopefully that's a clean up thing if he is indeed the pick here.

Both Green Bay & Houston have picked, Buffalo is on the clock with Pick 60. NFL Network behind as we near the end of the second round.

I’m not a huge fan of Rose personally. I watched him every game and he’s sound and solid, good technique, but I just don’t think he’s strong enough. My friend worked with the team (he broke in all the balls for the offense, so I have one penix and Rome would practice with) but he said the dude was just not as strong as the ends or other players

yeah i dont see anything obvious that's not fixable
feel like he's a decent middle ground between traits and floor with some of the OTs still available

of the OL available this is how i'd describe them in simple terms:

Christian Haynes - guard only
Blake Fisher - safest of the remaining OT options - RT only most likely
Kingsley Suamataia - toolsiest of the remaining OT options... might have some OG flexibility
Roger Rosengarten - kind of a mix of floor and traits with some potential swing upside too

I hope not. A bad anchor is a bad fit when every team wants to compress the pocket on Lamar. I want a powerful tackle
We're seemingly shifting in the type of OL we want. Obviously still want big and strong but they want athletes who can pull and operate in a zone now it seems.
