Game Ball Thread @ Chiefs

So i liked that we did this last week @ Falcons so here's your opportunity to kudos some of the guys in the game @ arrowhead...

for me it's tough but I'm really not sure who I'd give my game ball to but I can't think of anyone more deserving off the top of my head than Matt Judon

I’m going to give a shoutout to Lamar. It wasn’t pretty but he had us in position to win in a very difficult place to play regardless of the defense. And to that point I don’t think we had any delay of game penalties or wasted timeouts.

@rossihunter2 Matt Judon was a good one, but I’d like to give a game ball to Cyrus Jones for his 55 yard punt return to set up the go ahead TD. I’d also like to give a game ball to Kenneth Dixon. He is really starting to ball

great pickup - thoughts of janarion grant and tim white fighting to see who could fumble the most have been banished

and even better he's a local boy and another guy from that bama secondary

if we'd gone on to win the game i would have said the critical play was that td pass to john brown - scoring a td there on 3rd down rather than just taking the fg and defending a 3 pt lead would have been crucial in forcing the chiefs to really push the ball downfield which created all those 4th down situations on the next drive - we just couldnt convert in the end

To me it would have been the TD on 4th down to go up 7. The pressure on them to get a TD I thought would be and almost was the difference maker. But true ... that 3rd down TD was huge because as we knew, red zone trips must result in TDs to win us this game.

Judon was clearly the best raven on the field imo.

Kenneth Dixon got robbed of deserved carries and it could have been the difference, he ran like an absolute dog and gus bus looked a little gassed, swap 7 carries from gus to Dixon and give Dixon all of Montgomery’s carries and the end result might be different

I thought lamar played very admirably, he escaped some pressures and looked very impressive doing it and still kept eyes downfield and made some plays, he was very poised, he made an incredible deep throw after a crazy scramble that should’ve went for a long TD if Moore wasn't interfered, had some other beautiful throws to Snead and his TD to brown was nice as well. I’m more convinced on lamar than ever before after playing probably his best game IN ARROWHEAD in a playoff atmosphere, the boys a gamer.

Snead is looking unstoppable at the sticks, seems like every time lamar throws his way he’s converting a first down and it doesn’t matter the situation. We need to involve Snead a lot more because he and lamar have a chemistry

My game ball last week was to pierce, who I feel I remember got gashed on short downs that got converted

Lol I remember one 4th and 1 specifically, tony romo said “there’s pierce, don’t run at him” *proceeds to run straight up the middle for 3 yards* ........”well...they ran at him” I couldn’t be help but laugh

im excited to see dixon get more work in the passing game because he's a more versatile receiver than gus and a much better inside runner than Ty so he offers more play action value - he only had 1 reception vs the chiefs but i hope he gets more targets moving forwards

Prior to this season I was so close to buying a Judon jersey but just ended up passing. Then up until a few weeks ago I was happy I didn’t. Now I’m pissed I didn’t. I love his attitude, I love his demeanor. Damn if he ever fixes his offseason conditioning shit then he legit would be one of the best edge guys in the league. He’s that good.

And Dixon. Finally he’s healthy and showing what he flashed in his rookie year. I’ve been in love with his game since then. Great vision, the first tackler is never going to take him down. He’s twitchy af. It’s so fun to watch him skip and hop all over the place. I’m just really pissed that I’m getting so excited about him again just for something stupid to happen, whether it be injuries or suspensions. But until then, damn it Harbaugh give that machine more carries!!

that's partly a byproduct of using lots of motion in your gameplan - it just holds interior defenders attention even on short yardage plays and that tiny moment creates just enough leverage to convert sometimes - it happened early in the year where the ravens got creative on how we would scheme up the qb sneaks

I'd give it to Judon because he wreaked havoc all game and has been on a tear recently. If he faced any other QB then he could have had 4-5 sacks on the day.

Honorable mentions: Jones and Dixon. Jones had another great return which led to an easy TD and Dixon seems to be running better every week. I've always been skeptical of Dixon's ability to stay on the field, but he definitely makes his presence known when he's out there.

Another thing going for Lamar Judon (and it's been mentioned already) is that he did all this and got all those 10 pressures etc. against a good OL and specifically against Mitchell Schwartz who is a good OL but is currently grading out by PFF as the 4th best OL (not just OT) in the NFL this year

now that's not everything but 4th means he's probably been pretty great on most grading systems tbh...

and Judon crushed him

EDIT: thanks lost for the correction lol

Man Lamar Jackson is a fucking stud. QB, RB, and ELITE edge rusher all in one. That stat line plus 10 pressures. Tear down the Ray Lewis statue. Lamar is now better. He makes Barry Church and James Hurst look like scrubs

dont forget he's an up and coming wr as well according to a load of draft "experts"

It’s like Superman from smallvile. Runs so fast that he catches his own Hail Mary.

He’s unstoppable. You could line up a defense of Aaron donald, Chris Jones, JJ Watt, Von Miller, Khalil Mack, Luke Keuchley, with a secondary of Peterson, Harris Jr, Eddie Jackson, and Lamarcus Joyner and it would be Lamar who is the obvious victor.

You could put him up against an oline of 5 in his prime Ogdens and he’d still have 10 sacks.

PREPARE TO FACE A GENERATIONAL TALENT
