2024 Training Camp

Feels like only 7 guys in the hunt
Would be a surprise if we kept all 7
Yep and that’s nothing bad against the other guys. They just are what they are - developmental fringe types. A few I’d like to keep on the PS but just aren’t contenders for the 53.

i mean he will have bad days
it's training camp

not sure why rosengarten not winning the job means we'd have to keep 10 OL

if mekari's the RT it just means that if we have injuries we have a bit more shuffling to do - probably why they're looking at Cleveland at C too - just to see if that aids the flexibility for the OL 6, 7 and 8 who are active on gamedays
We've ordinarily kept 9 sometimes 10 for a period.

Assuming this starting lineup

LT Stanley
LG Vorhees
C Linderbaum
RG Faalele
RT Mekari

Understanding the Ravens traditionally like to only make 1 replacement due to injury (if possible) let's consider the backups.

LT Jones. I could be wrong but I don't think they currently have any intention of Rosengarten playing there this year.

LG Sala/Cleveland are the options

C Samac/Cleveland are the options with Samac probably well ahead of Cleveland as a guess

RG Sala / Cleveland

RT Rosengarten

If you want to only keep 9, one of Sala or Cleveland or Samac has to go. If Mekari is at RT then I think Samac is safe. That leaves Sala and Cleveland where the winner holds down both LG and RG backup.

I could be totally wrong but I would expect they'd rather see Cleveland who's played in games at both spots trot out there as the primary G backup over Sala. And I don't think they want to cut Sala.

Just my thoughts on why I think we keep 10.

They’re now trying Cleveland out at center. Seems like they’re trying everything to salvage his ass.

Could very well be wrong, but not so sure Samac is safe. He was getting 2nd team reps at C with Linderbaum healthy, but now it's seemingly everyone but him. May speak to a lack of trust in him being an actual option, but could very well be reading into it too.

Yeah. The Cleveland at C thing might be their way of keeping him on the 53 while trying to stash Samac on the PS.

Info from the homie on the OL...

Stanley, Vorhees, and Linderbaum are essentially locked in at this point. They want Rosengarten to take RT but they're content with Mekari if it plays out that way.

Which leads to RG... they're looking. Faalele would be the guy if the season started today, but they are monitoring the market to make improvements if possible.

Cleveland is all but out of the RG race, but the C reps are real. He's been working there since last year and with him not factoring in at G, they decided to let him roll with it with Linderbaum out for a tad.

And watch out for Tashawn Manning on the 53. Movement skills aren't ideal but he's been a brick wall in a phone booth. Lack of versatility could hurt but no one else is really stepping up besides him.

So this is bleak…

Also said they have a couple of guys they've been talking with at pass rusher but plan on letting the young guys start the season, pending health of course.

Bleak wasn't the vibe I got. I don't think they hate the idea of Faalele but also know they're taking a chance with him there vs. something a little more of a sure thing. Problem is all of the available options outside of the team currently don't really move the needle, so might as well go with the young guy with upside.

Side note - they were looking at Connor Williams but sounds like they weren't comfortable enough with the medicals to go to the price Seattle did.

Also also they fucking love Jalyn Armour-Davis and are crossing their fingers he stays healthy. Don't be surprised if he's on the field ahead of Wiggins early in the season.

Bruh I damn near completely forgot about JAD. If he can make a Stephens-esque jump of improvement this year, our secondary isn't gonna miss a beat.

Now speaking of Stephens, does your contact know of any updates regarding a potential extension?

Haven’t heard anything. Will freely admit we’re more acquaintances than friends. I try to limit the questions and let him just kind of tell me what he’s willing to when I see him. I’ve shot off the occasional text but I don’t push it.

I'd like for Roger to take the RT spot in camp and am fine with the left side if Tyler is healthy. Would keep Pat available. Good news though about Vorhees. Feel like they knew they had something.
