2024 Training Camp

Agreed. I think there's still some hope because what we saw doesn't 100% match the college tape. The lack of leg drive/inability to break tackles/contact balance was an issue in college and looks like it will be in the NFL too. But the explosion, one cut ability, and decisiveness that you saw at Marshall was not even close to evident last week.

Just not great that apparently this has been the case all camp, so he's gotta pick it back up quick to put himself back in the conversation. Being a draft pick won't save him.

he may make it with return ability depending on how they feel about harty (who's missed time) because it doesnt feel like there's going to be a lot of snaps available for the RB3 with Justice and Henry at the top of the depth chart - you'd need to be an obvious playmaker to start stealing snaps from those 2

I did at least like the ability be decisive, make a cut, and go. Long speed was pretty meh and him vs. contact was never great, but the things that did give him an NFL future just have not shown up yet.

just frustrating knowing that tyrone tracy was also available
but they clearly had a profile they were looking for at RB in the draft this year

Ray Davis was the guy i'd fallen in love with though...

Don't see how you can keep
Harty
Miller
And Tylan.

Don't see how you can keep Miller off the team based on how's he's been compared to Harty and and Gage as a WR.

i mean i wouldnt get too far ahead of yourself about miller yet lol - he's not even been on the team a week yet

Yeah but here's the thought.

1) Even with Bateman you probably want another guy.

2) Bateman is probably showing you yet again he's gonna be unreliable.

3) Harty and Walker are not healthy and both totally unproven.

4) Now you really need another guy.

5) You add Gage. Gage isn't healthy either and doesn't seem like the guy.

6) You add Miller. In every practice he's actually been productive.

You can say well I'd rather just keep Tylan. And that could make some sense but if they really trusted Tylan I don't think they'd have been making these moves.

OR they just need bodies for camp and games and it was always just Tylan

I'm also not buying Anthony Miller stock just yet. Dude hasn't played in a single game since 2021 and even those were limited reps. Even with a couple of solid practices, I think he's closer to out of the league than the 53. He can continue climbing with some good performances but he's a shot in the dark right now in my eyes.

I think that's what frustrates me too is that he's got the exact skills you'd seemingly want in this new age of kick returns, but then the ball security issues...

The over/under on Bate is 8.5 games. :(

I’m buying all of it. I’m finna go broke over ant miller.

I don’t trust Bate. We’ll be looking for a WR by the trade deadline

My thought on the roster after game 2 is that not much has changed. Maybe a couple of guys moved closer to the bubble in either direction but still a number of spots (WR6, OL9) where you could pick any of them and get no complaints from me because no one is separating.

Biggest concern is the OL. Good OL options aren’t readily available at this stage but I’d be calling around to see what I could make happen if I was EDC.

Do you guys think this is a better team than last season’s team? I am not seeing it yet.
Impossible to tell, they’ll likely have a slow start a little since they lost a lot including coaches. But honestly they don’t need to be, the best team doesn’t always win, they’ll be good enough, they just need to make the playoffs and finally do the run.
