2024 Training Camp

The hate is from the fact that he was no better than any other returner and he's gonna have no WR value whatsoever. And this team desperately needs WR bodies.
I think he's definitely more RS than WR but I wouldn't say there's no WR value.

I am personally just not convinced any of the other WRs have that much more WR value either though. I will freely admit that Dayton Wade is the one that has me questioning Harty the most right now, but still just think Harty is here.

I'm also seeing it closer to you then to rossi. I do think Rosengarten got better as the game went on but is that just because of the decrease in talent across from him?
I'm willing to concede that @rossihunter2 has a better eye on youngsters than I do coming in every year and his appraisal of them is usually pretty good. I also understand being high on a team coming into a season... but, color me skeptical of where we are until we see a couple real NFL games. And if there is an injury to a front line starter in the OFF that changes everything, because there doesn't seem to be real depth, especially at QB and WR. That's scary. Altho, JJ had a great day... against an auditioning DEF, tho.

If a WR goes down, that puts an extra guy in the box at all times. If a RB goes down that keeps coverage at full with a +1 potential on every play. I just feel like there's this expectation that were one step away last year and this is the year we take the next step, but, in reality, the team is WAY different, and maybe less - overall - than it was last year. Plus all the coaching changes... idk.

I'm not sold. I can buy in, but I need to see a couple real games instead of the used car lot.

Basically, if he’s starting against the Steelers or browns, it’s gonna be a LONG goddamn day for him. I don’t see how he holds up against a Myles Garrett or watt, and yeah those guys can put nearly any OT on skates, but there’s struggling against a great player, and then there’s being a literal traffic cone against a great player. Rosengarten has a lot of skill and talent for sure, but I’m leaning towards him being a traffic cone against some of our rival rushers, I don’t see any scenario where he can hold up physically against guys like that. All the footwork and hand work in the world won’t help when you’re on your back, and I think we actually might see exactly that if he’s blocking one of those guys.

And we have seen guys get substantially bigger and stronger by year 3/4. I’m not saying the book is written on rosengarten, I just think he’s got a college body and he needs a NFL body.

Agreed all around. If they roll with him and see that he's a total liability against an AFCN opponent they better bench his ass. Mekari is not gonna get Lamar killed. Even if he's not what you'd want

I wasn’t encouraged by rosengarten. I missed a good bit but he looked really rough in the first quarter. I don’t see him starting year one, he looks noticeably small and he seems a bit panicky in his approach.

I think he needs to just get stronger, by quite a bit.

i went snap by snap with rosengarten and was super impressed
hands and feet really married up well, played with good leverage, independent hands, dropped anchor effectively

run game looked better than he did in week 1 - worked well with faalele on some combos, still clearly a better pass protector than he is a run blocker

but the pass pro stuff looks awesome

honestly not really sure what you guys were watching with rosengarten - dont see any of what you guys are saying

please point me to the plays that concerned you from last night
i saw 1 poor rep for the sack but not sure what else

samac and manning were the guys from the 3rd string that looked best

feels like it's those 2 and Sala in a fight for the 9th OL

I don’t have access to the reps and I don’t have the time and frankly don’t care enough to go highlight reps, but against camp bodies for 2 weeks now there’s a struggle there, he’s not getting bowled over but he’s giving up ground and taking many steps to recover and regain footing, physically he looks a bit overwhelmed in general, and I’m not looking forward to when the competition skyrockets against Garrett and watt tier rushers.

We will see when the day comes, but I don’t think it’s gonna be pretty.

i mean i guess i just disagree - didnt see him struggle at all - and specifically i saw him drop anchor really well
ive watched every snap the first two weeks and have none of those concerns based on how he's done

The oline gonna struggle for sure. 3 new positions being filled and we still dont know whose going where.. question is, how bad and how long the struggling will be

Wade was literally the last UDFA I signed. Really hoping he sticks, but I doubt he makes the team. I like Brade as well.

i am much more concerned about vorhees (specifically his hand placement) in pass pro than i am about rosengarten

the issue i have with pairing faalele and rosengarten is that they dont necessarily complement each other that well in the run game right now but chemistry and experience together will help alleviate that over time

with vorhees, his hand placement is just too consistently high and wide and he doesnt have the athletic gifts to recover the way that rosengarten does (but also RR's technique has been much better than vorhees so far as well)

not in love with faalele at RG either but been happier with the tape he's put out there vs vorhees

In both games Vorhees has been on the ground more than any other player I feel like. It happens so often

I’m with you on this one. Thought Vorhees had a solid game 1 but this one was a clear step back and it just elevated some concerns for me. Vorhees feels like the type of guy I’d be okay with if he was the only newcomer, but him being 1 of 3 just adds some stress. Especially because he’s seemingly the most locked of those 3.

He will definitely benefit from playing between Stanley and Linderbaum. The right side is going to be trouble.
