Agreed. Point I was trying to make is that the 2021 Ravens had an inferior running game, OL was just as if not MORE questionable, pass-rush was still an issue, no Ro, and our secondary was giving up far too many chunk plays. We still started that season 8-4 before Lamar went down.Better
So basically the Ravens offered their rookie class to the injury gods in the hopes that it would satisfy them. Also this rookie class is such a giant question mark and/or a disappointment outside of the top 2 so far.
Wiggins - great start
Rosengarten - work in progress but shows promise
Isaac - hurt, flashed, and hurt again
Walker - hurt most of the preseason and has hardly played
Tampa - hurt most of the preseason and has not played
Ali - played one game and sucked, then got hurt
Leary - ass
Samac - finally started ascending then got hurt
Kane - played well, got hurt, finally made it back
It has gotten real bad. Not only should every single starter be a star, but all of the backups should also be stars. I do think we’re weaker on depth at the backend of the 53 but there’s ample opportunity to improve that.So based on some preseason games its clear we need to sack EDC and Harbs and tank to get a better back up QB. You guys are starting to sound a lot like Ravens fans on social media lol.
We have been very vanilla, plus they will be better with Linderbaum and Stanley in the lineup.I think so. I don’t trust this offensive line, nor the WR corps. Lamar’s gonna have to be a superhero once again and turn nothing into something. I’m sick and tired of this shit and it starts with EDC, though I can’t wait for Harbaugh to finally go. I don’t have a good feeling for this season
Imo the complaints are all pretty consistent and reflective of reality. Theres always drama but it is true:It has gotten real bad. Wallace had a nice TD, the defense did fine, Leary is literally awful and had 3 turnovers, not much you can do with that guy. We’re gonna be fine, I know you’re trolling thoI didn’t see the game today but… we’re gonna have a bad year aren’t we?
Wiggins looked great! Too much negativity in here, we’ll get some revenge lite week 1 and we’ll all feel stupid for overreactingImo the complaints are all pretty consistent and reflective of reality. Theres always drama but it is true:
The OL was self obliterated
The back end roster is weaker than it has been in awhile
This preseason's QB play is the worst we've seen in awhile
This rookie class has had really bad injury luck
And I think it looks bad because there was very little positive to balance the negative. We didn't see a new signing do well (like Henry for obvious reasons) nor did we see a young guy do really well. Trenton was probably the best in this area.
My initial inclination is that preseason game 3 doesn’t make decisions, but here’s where I’m at…
RB3 - the Wright injury is a blow for him because he was the guy. My assumption is that it’s Ali and you monitor for other options. I’d go Collier if it was based on what I’ve seen but think they’ll lean draft pick here.
WR5 and WR6 - make it Harty and Wallace and keep a vet or two on the PS. Don’t think I’d waive Wallace to keep someone that doesn’t need to go through waivers. And none of them have done quite enough for me either.
OL9 - if healthy, Samac. If not, I think it’s Sala for now and someone outside of the organization if you can swing something.
CB6 - it was a rough look for Pepe today but think he’s had a solid camp overall per reports. Hollman is ass at CB but has some ST abilities so it could be him.
S5 - coin flip but I might give the edge to Brade over Kane. It could end up being both…
Last spot - ILB is light on depth but I’m not sure Ross or Rigby have done enough. As alluded to above, I might keep both S5 candidates and monitor the waiver wire for an ILB option.
I know there are unknowns, but I’m not sure why there is so much consternation surrounding the O line. Could be that they have a rough start but it seems Rosengarten and Voorhees will be more than capable replacements. And by most accounts Faalele is ready to take the next step. Hopefully Ronnie is back to form, but he was never going anywhere anyway.
Here's my final guess. This is what I think will happen, not necessarily what I want to happen
QB (2): Jackson, Johnson
RB (4): Henry, Hill, Ali, Ricard (FB)
WR (6): Flowers, Bateman, Agholor, Harty, Walker, Wallace
TE (3): Andrews, Likely, Kolar
OT (4): Stanley, Rosengarten, Mekari, Jones
iOL (5): Linderbaum, Vorhees, Faalele, Cleveland, Samac
DL (5): Madubuike, Pierce, Jones, Urban, Washington
OLB (6): Van Noy, Oweh, Ojabo, Harrison, Robinson, Isaac
ILB (3): Smith, Simpson, Board
CB (6): Humphrey, Stephens, Wiggins, Armour-Davis, Tampa, Williams, Maulet (IR)
S (6): Hamilton, Williams, Jackson, Washington, Kane, Brade
ST (3): Tucker, Stout, Moore
Notable bubble guys that don't make the cut:
WR Wade, OL Aumavaue-Laulu, OL Manning, ILB Ross, CB Hollman
Obviously, I'm a little heavy in the secondary, but I think that's temporary-ish. Because I went heavy in the secondary, ILB depth is thin. My thought is that a guy like Ross is extremely likely to clear waivers and could be an elevation for a few weeks in order to delay cutting a guy like Pepe (who I think has the most tenuous hold on a spot in the secondary). I'd also think ILB is a place we monitor the waiver wire for on cutdown day.
We also have a few IR candidates so there could be roster shenanigans per usual. Arthur Maulet, Adisa Isaac, and Owen Wright are the obvious candidates right now. Wouldn't be shocked if they find some excuses for young guys like Ali or Walker or Samac as well, but I'm not going to count on that.
All in all, RB3 is a coin flip and I think they're all uninspiring options with Wright down now. WR feels a little easier at this stage as the vets haven't done enough and are probably plenty safe on the PS. OL9 is still a tossup and will probably depend on Samac's health and/or an outside addition.

i dont think the back end is necessarily weaker - i think we've got more guys who are entrenched enough that they're not going to play a second of preseason we've got non-starting guys at various positions who havent played a snap of preseason because they dont need toThe back end roster is weaker than it has been in awhile
