Lamar Jackson, the Miscommunications, and the Refs

Hurts is getting crucified lately but the difference is what the player is viewed as. Hurts is viewed as the 9th-16th best QB in the NFL whereas Lamar is at worst top 4 and a 2x MVP. The standard is simply different.
Lmao. Literally untrue. People have been saying Hurts is better than Lamar ever since his SB appearance. Then to justify last year they just say he was hurt and wait for 2024.

I can’t find a reputable QB power ranking for this year that has Hurts over Lamar. Maybe you can find some random fringe site baiting for clicks but the fact that you will have to dig for it to find it proves my point.

That is why the standard is different. The 2x MVP, top 5 QB, who has stated he wants to go down as the best ever, is a held to a different standard than a guy who has had 1 good year in his entire career.

Agreed.. its gotten to the point that lamar is so impactful, he has to win SB.. he wont get praised for losing in a SB like hurts and borrow did, they still gonna crucify him for losing. Just like how people thought they werent gonna criticize him for losing in afc ship to mahommes, yet they still did

Wait I thought the bengals won that game, that’s weird, they’re so cocky about it I just assumed they won

I know I gave Lamar hell earlier, but I do acknowledge he played a hell of a game. My gripes were just about not being able to punch it in at the end and missing the deep ball to likely. Overall he was the best raven on the field by a mile, Likely was the closest to him. And I think he’s got a huge year in store

Hurts gets a lot more respect than deserved due to his impressive fantasy performances but no NFL evaluator worth a damn would compare the two. Lamar does way more with way less. Imagine if we had smith and AJ sheesh

Also major shoutout to Justice Hill. That dude is a fucking gamer. Goes from being one of the only lifelines early in the game to taking (and largely handling) Chris Jones 1-on-1 on the final drive.

Very impressed with the player he's become.
