So Hamilton admitted that the busted coverage last week was his fault and his fault only. Glad that it was addressed early.

A couple blown coverages week 1 aside, this D might end up being better than last year. Jones is looking like a tag team monster inside with Mads, secondary even deeper and healthier than last year, Simpson might be better than Queen especially with mental aspect of game. I have all the confidence in the world Zach Orr will grow quickly into the role.

I'm not worried about the defense come mid season. I'm worried about the offense. It seems pretty clear that from last year's playoffs (both games) and week 1 of this year, if Monken gets something in his head, he can't get it out.

And it seems like he's got it in his head that he can't trust his OL to run and he's in love with getting the ball to Zay way too much. And we all know that means that's not actually an NFL offense. What it actually is, is the equivalent of saying Lamar save us by just doing amazing things off script.

monken adapted throughout last season, he'll do the same this year
was an inauspicious start as a playcaller and offensive designer but it'll improve over time - remember none of our starters played in preseason outside of Vorhees, Faalele and Mekari (who only played 1 game at RT)

Trenton Simpson looks like he could be special.

Davis ojabo looks like he’s for real when he stays on the field.

Oweh looked really good, he’s disruptive and he’s a massive pain in the ass for an offense to deal with, it annoys us that he doesn’t finish sacks but I know offenses gotta hate his ass by the fourth quarter, ultimate motor player and his motor doesn’t slow down ever.

Travis jones is a bit of an animal, he’s a load for the OL to deal with, think he’s in for a breakout year.

Don’t like the lack of Brent urban, he’s one of our most underappreciated players.

Our secondary is the leagues best, idk who’s got #2 but they’re probably lagging behind us by quite a bit.

Health and coordinating are the only uncertainties. If those two come together, this is a top 2 unit, a championship caliber defense. Just like last year.

Now if we could figure out running the fucking ball…

Urban was out last game.

We have guys who can win their 1 on 1s. Mad and Jones are going to be disruptive and Oweh is doing his job. I'm very happy with what I've seen from Simpson already. Don't like our olb depth was hurt, but I like Robinson so far. Secondary will be fine and is deep.

@rossihunter2 was wondering how much they actually blitzed? Doubt the numbers would be that high against the Chiefs anyway, but curious. Would expect it to go up this week.

I’m saying I don’t like that they made urban inactive. Are you saying he was injured?

Defenses aren't gonna keep double teaming Andrews the majority of the game if Likely keeps this up and I don't see why not. The only worry I have is how quickly can Monken adequately implement Henry. Everything else on offense will work itself out.

Yeah Likely's emergence might be that 3rd wrinkle the Ravens have needed so long in the pass game. The near comeback against the Chiefs is something that doesn't happen last year. I am concerned with comments about Henry not getting 30 carries a game. Henry's value in his career did not come from carries 1-15, but wearing down defenses and being unstoppable carries 15+. I am concerned they paid big money to an old running back they aren't going to use properly.

30 isn't necessarily old, but you definitely can't run a 30 year old RB 30 times a game for 20 - 21 games. It's a long season, no reason to pass judgement on plans after 1 game.

Does the seat get a little hot for some folks if we lose this one?
I love the commitment , but even Harbs can’t blow this game

according to pfr only 13.3% of the time which was 6th lowest blitz rate in the league
notable though, tbf, that you just shouldnt blitz mahomes much at all

Expected low numbers and didn't think we sent heat often for that reason. Don't think Minshew gets the same treatment.

No Nate Wiggins on Sunday. 3rd Ravens player to be involved in a car accident in the last month or so. Harbaugh said he's fine all things considered but won't be ready this week.

There are some complete idiots behind the wheel in the DMV. Many drive like they're in a video game.
