Hall of Famer
Since the Ravens have a 1PM game, Shannon Sharpe will see more action than this whole thread will get by the end of Monday Night Football.
Thursday Night Football
Bills @ Dolphins: Both teams are coming off wins to start the season, and a short week on Thursday Night Football to help set the tone in the battle for AFC East Supremacy. The Bills have won 13 of the past 15 games against Miami, and Josh Allen is 11-2 all time against Miami as a starting Quarterback. There is some concern with Allen as he injured his hand landing on it after hurdling Budda Baker and has been wearing a glove in practice this week. Miami has already ruled out RB Raheem Mostert, with De'Von Achane being a game time decision meaning a lot of pressure will be on Tua to come through with injuries in the run game early. After needing a comeback win against Jacksonville, can Miami afford to get behind against Buffalo or can Tua lead another comeback if needed?
Sunday 1PM Games
Raiders @ Ravens: The Ravens came within an inch of tying the game and potentially going for the win with a 2-pt conversion against the Chiefs. Now they return home as the Las Vegas Raiders come to town in Derrick Henry's first home game as a Raven. For the Ravens, there is major concern with the offensive line that struggled last week in KC and it doesn't get better with Maxx Crosby on the other side. From an offensive standpoint, the Ravens have to be happy with their former back putting up over 100+ against the Raiders defense. If the Ravens can get Derrick Henry going the same way, this will be a tough Ravens team to beat. If the game is close and we saw what Gardner Minshew did last year when he played the Ravens starting for the Colts. The Ravens might face an 0-2 start, something they haven't done since 2015.
Saints @ Cowboys: Calm down Saints fans, it was just the Panthers. The Saints looked really good against an awful Carolina team, and now we'll get to see who the real New Orleans Saints are as they head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. The Saints had 13 players on their injury report Wednesday with two being Marshon Lattimore & Tyrann Mathieu who is dealing with a heel injury. Dallas meanwhile won on the road against a Browns team who simply couldn't keep up with the Cowboys offense. Given how strong of a defense the Browns have been in recent years, it's a good sign for the Cowboys but could be trouble for the Saints as their defense gets their first true test of the season.
Buccaneers @ Lions: A playoff rematch from last year, week one saw both the Bucs & Lions get statement wins as they show they are not going anywhere. The Lions won their playoff rematch against the Rams who struggled to stop the run following Aaron Donald's retirement, and look to win their playoff rematch against Tampa Bay. Baker Mayfield continues to impress down in Tampa as he makes the Browns look foolish for getting rid of him. Throwing for 289 yards and 4 TDs against the Commanders, Baker is sure earning his contract while Watson seemingly has checked out leaving Browns fans wondering... what if.
Colts @ Packers: When the Packers traded for Malik Willis, I said if Love got hurt or missed time that not having a better backup option would hurt Green Bay. Now Green Bay faces this exact scenario as Jordan Love's status for the next few games are unknown. He may not miss as many games as we first thought but this does hurt Green Bay's playoff aspirations if he misses a crucial amount of games. Anthony Richardson once again showed flashes in the loss to Houston in week one, we need more of a sample size to fully judge him but we'll see as the season progresses.
Jets @ Titans: Was it just a case of playing a really good 49ers defense or are the Jets' problems so bad that not even Aaron Rodgers can fix them? At times Rodgers looked like his old self, while most of the game it looked like what we saw all of last year from the Jets. This is a make or break year, if things continue going south then perhaps this will end up like a disaster that Brett Favre was for the Jets. Meanwhile, Tennessee showed some spark against the Bears but were undone by the Bears defense and special teams in a road loss in Chicago. As both teams look to rebound, Jets can't afford another loss with the hype surrounding them and Will Levis might just put the Titans in contention for a top QB in 2025.
49ers @ Vikings: The 49ers come off a huge Monday Night win doing what they do best... beat Aaron Rodgers. Not only did they beat Aaron Rodgers, but they did it with Run CMC and everyone's favorite waiver wire pickup Jordan Mason. San Fran sent a message to the NFC that they aren't going anywhere, while Sam Darnold defeated the ghosts of Metlife by beating leading the Vikings to a huge win over the Giants. Much like fellow 2018 selection Baker Mayfield, Darnold seemingly has found new life away from the team that originally drafted him. With the 49ers defense coming to town, we will soon find out whether Darnold did find new life or the Giants are just bad.
Seahawks @ Patriots: October 24th, 1993, week 8 of the 1993 NFL Season as the New England Patriots traveled to Seattle to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Bill Parcels was the Head Coach of the Patriots with a brand new quarterback in Drew Bledsoe who they drafted with the 1st overall Pick of the 1993 NFL Draft. The Patriots meanwhile were coached by Tom Flores, and the Seahawks were still in the AFC the last time these two faced off without Pete Carroll or Bill Belichick on the sidelines. The Patriots stunned the world, and eliminated 71% of people in survival pools by upsetting the Bengals last week. Mike Macdonald won his first game as Head Coach last week against the Broncos but left plenty of room for improvement on the table offensively. Geno Smith only threw for 171 yards and plays a Patriots defense that held Joe Burrow to 164 yards and zero touchdowns. I expect this to be a defensive chess match between two defensive minds, and let the best man win.
Giants @ Commanders: It may have been a new era for the Commanders with Jayden Daniels, but for the Giants it was the same old, same old Daniel Jones. Jones threw two interceptions last week, including a Pick 6 in the home opener against the Vikings. He looks to turn it around against a team he has had success against as he is 5-1-1 and has beaten them under three different team names. Plus it doesn't help that Baker Mayfield had no problem against a Commanders' secondary that will now be without Emmanuel Forbes. Jayden Daniels also looks to take advantage of a Giants defense that is young in the secondary and struggled to rush the passer against Minnesota. Will Jayden Daniels give the home crowd some hope or will Daniel Jones once again thrive against Washington?
Chargers @ Panthers: Is it too soon to congratulate the Panthers on winning the first overall pick in 2025? Dave Canale might be regretting taking this Head Coaching gig, and it doesn't get better with Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers coming to town. Last week, the Ravens... I mean Chargers ran all over the Raiders as JK Dobbins ran for 135 yards and a Touchdown in their win last week. Carolina gave up 180 yards against New Orleans last week making him a must start in fantasy in week two. Jim Harbaugh has the Chargers ready for their first 2-0 start since 2012, and if last week was any indication, they might even take the 'Keep Pounding' slogan on their way home.
