Can’t trade for someone that isn’t available. At the end of the day, these players worked last year, only difference is coaching. Players are not in position to make plays

Not every coach or GM is thinking about how to win long term. They are usually thinking about how they are going to keep their job going forward. That is one of the reasons why the good teams stay good because being successful gives job security that allows them to make the tough choices that other GMs are afraid to make.
