The Running Game, the Turnovers, and the Same Ol’ Ravens

I think what bothers me most is hearing it so frequently from Ravens fans.

I have never seen a more disrespected (soon to be) three time MVP.

We are witnessing greatness at a level I don't think any of us imagined a Raven could achieve. People should be more appreciative of what we have because the team was mediocre as hell with Flacco post Super Bowl and Lamar breathed life and excitement to the team in a way I only ever experienced during the Super Bowl run.
Couldn't have said it better myself. At least this team is fun to watch and excited. Post Super Bowl Ravens from 2013-2017 were boring to watch and to be quite honestly to the rest of the NFL irrelevant. No one ever really brought us up as Super Bowl contenders, it felt like no one even cared that we weren't even competitive.

His WRs were tylan wallace, Anthony miller and Steven sims…

Demarcus Robinson and the ghost of desean Jackson might have been a better group lol
Random question, is this you on twitter?

I saw a video recently where patriots players said bill Belichick demanded players wore sleeves in certain weather conditions for ball security purposes, and Tom Brady agreed with him, if you didn’t have sleeves on you wouldn’t get the ball because you’d be a liability.

Stop trying to prove some bullshit tough factor by going sleeveless and playing football on an ice rink. Put on some cold gear, play loose and comfortable, secure the fucking ball.

This might be crazy but I think if andrews had sleeves on he doesn’t fumble, he tucks the ball rather than pin it against his hip. He maybe catches the ball too, because playing in single digit weather and falling bare skin onto a sheet of ice, is a distraction, no matter how soft you might think you appear by admitting that it’s a distraction, human nature and self preservation will at the very least cause a slight flinch after being exposed to those elements for 3 hours.

Then there’s Lamar. You know god damn good and well your Florida ass don’t like this frozen environment, what are you tryna prove? Put sleeves on.

I really can’t understand why our entire team went sleeveless, I FULLY believe it was a factor in a game where ball security was our ONLY problem

Do you think sleeves would have helped the punched ball stay with Mark? I've watched it a few times and it looks he tucked it, had it high and tight, but when he cut back a bit to avoid the tackle he exposed the ball and the Bills LB punched it out. His momentum from cutting back gave him no chance to recover it. The dropped pass may be a different story though.

I'd be curious to know why those guys wear short sleeves, I doubt it has any thing to do with trying to prove they're manly or tough.

Idk I was going off memory I thought he had it pinned against his hip.

Whatever the reason is, I’ve always thought going sleeveless in these conditions is a net negative, like there is no way it doesn’t affect you in a passive way, you might not think it’s affecting you but human instinct will have you unconsciously doing things to protect yourself.

I think the ball slips in Lamar’s hand slightly - I think he wants to throw it more to the sideline
I already thought it was a miscommunication, but this video makes it a lot more understandable than before.

The play wasn't a good one, but it definitely got away from Lamar and sailed. However, it was actually a way more open play than I realized. That one hurts when Lamar was mostly money on the day as a deep ball passer.

I think, ironically, despite good or even great defences… the easiest way to support a struggling qb is with turnovers and this defence just doesn’t force turnovers

There’s no ray Lewis or Ed reed or Terrell Suggs here to make a game-changing play in a big moment
I've seen a lot of people essentially suggest that the Ravens defense generally does a great job of limiting points in the playoffs, so they don't need turnovers.

It's not an either/or, guys. It's really nice to have both.

Has the video of the hold by Dawkins on Ojabo been shared? I'm not going to share a video from a platform owned by a Nazi sympathizer, but...

We got the view from behind Ojabo where it didn't look like a hold. However, there was a video from behind Dawkins and Dawkins 100% reaches into Ojabo's shoulder pad and yanks Ojabo down that way.

I know most people lamented it as a bad call and whined that the Bills deserved a make up call, but it turns out the broadcast just did a poor job of showing the angle that showed it really was a penalty.

yeah i dont think it was even a mistake - ball just came out slightly wrong and sailed

been funny watching bills media talk about forcing ravens mistakes this week...

as if 2 of the turnovers weren't unforced errors and 3 other major plays in the game were just unforced drops lol

Tom Brady has a 3-1 record when throwing 3 INTs in the playoffs. Sometimes the team just needs to find a way to win, and we haven’t done that since 2012
That's an aberration and a lotta ref ball going on in those NE playoff games. generally if a team turns the ball over 3 times they lose, especially in the playoffs.

I think this last game in particular is challenging. Obviously fumbles occur too, but like when we're talking turnovers, we're mostly talking about strip sacks and interceptions. Allen hasn't done much of that this year, and as even Van Noy said, the Bills ran literally one of the more conservative gameplans you'll probably see from an offense all year long. Not turning the ball over seemed to be arguably more important to Buffalo than actually scoring TDs.

Just watched Hard Knocks , a tough watch.

FYI the Lamar throw to Andrews was perfect.
Kind of low key enraging that there’s a decent population criticizing him for that throw. Hey, Chris Simms knows, he’s been there before! Every time I see the play (and I’d prefer to not see it ever again) it’s crazy to me anyone can critique the throw. It’s on Andrews

I audibly groan when I find out Romo is calling a game I actually plan on having the volume for. He's unbearable and has been since day 1. FFs, when he doubles down on some awful take that goes exactly the opposite way as he predicted "Iiii don't kknnnnoowww, it's awfullly close!' in that whiny shrill. Ugh.
