The Running Game, the Turnovers, and the Same Ol’ Ravens

And you drive a Challenger too, right? I've been there.
Yea I do.. it sticks out like a sore thumb. The car behind me was so close I couldn’t even see their lights.. like why?? I just lost my cool

I found out I have cancer last Wednesday, I am taking this loss a lot worse. Was hoping for something to lift my spirits, I aint mad just wasn't to be. Through all the mistakes we made we kept coming back but the last drop we never got a chance to atone for, the meltdowns after one mistake are what got me heated. Picking one target to lay blame is pretty unfair for Mandrews just because the time it happened. Pretty of blame to share around with this one.

Now I get to look forward to some [profanity deleted] sticking a camera up my clacker tomorrow.
Holy fuck man I’m so sorry. Guess there’s definitely more important shit out there than a shit ass football team

Sending my prayers out to you. Sorry to hear about that and I'm hoping for the best.

I'll end my BS here. None of this really matters. Things go one way or another. Mark Andrews gonna fuck us today? Fine. But what I actually don't like is poor refereeing. Despite our BS there's a good chance we win if Keon Coleman is called for OPI when he extends 2 arms fully to toss Tre White into oblivion. Instead it's called DPI and they get 7. The reason it gets me is there is no reason you should have wrong calls. We have a million cameras and a rules expert watching lol

Also been thinking a bit on the question of whether or not Lamar gets a SB and my reply that it’s really hard to win one.

Football is a completely different beast. Every other sport plays series in the playoffs. If you have a bad night, it’s not over. You come back the next night and try again.

In football, you get one shot. You have to play damn near perfect or you go home.

Bro fuck aubrey (he don't get to have his name properly capitalized LMAO) especially after this sucka shit he's doing.

But he knows how to hit them feels. And right now… I’m feeling it

Man they really need to add something to the game to fix that.. like an extra challenge or something and then look at the replay. I can’t accept losing because of shit calls

Reffing is my biggest problem with football as a whole right now. As you alluded to at the end, we have all of the technology in the world to get things right, but for some reason they’re hellbent on protecting the sanctity of the game by letting a bunch of old geezers make calls in a rapid paced game. Getting it right is much more important to me than letting the human side of thing sway decisions.

Is it safe to say that the OL and lack of pass rush were undoing this season?

I don’t think so tbh - OL came on strong 2nd half

5 plays

2 Lamar plays
2 Andrews plays
And the other 2 pt conversion

Any one of those plays changes and this game is at least tied. Any two or more of those plays change and this game might be a blowout win.

OL weren’t perfect but they did enough
Defence gave up 6 points in the 2nd half including only 3 on a short field.

We just haven’t had anyone else who can take over a game… this year we had Henry which was the first time we did have that guy… but 3 turnovers and those 2 2 pt failures are too much to overcome

We don’t really have playmakers other than Lamar and henry

Kyle Hamilton can be but not if he’s stuck at post safety all game

We don’t have a Chris jones, tyreek hill, Travis Kelce on this team

Do we keep Orr as DC? All things considered I still don't trust his scheme.

See, it's tough when we're picking at #27. I don't know how deep this draft is tbh. To me, it's us just putting it together. But at some point, like I was discussing with you yesterday, when is the team gonna FINALLY do it. Outside of continuous great drafting and free agency moves, you only get so many opportunities to make it to the SB, let alone win one.

Initial signs are this draft class sucks lol

Not getting a td on the Bateman catch is criminal

100%. The optimist in me says it's what you said about the sanctity of the game. The cynic says it's so you can manipulate outcomes.

I think Zay can be and imo, not having him was a difference maker.

Because this team is constantly one of the top teams in the NFL is why we get so emotionally invested. We have a generational talent in Lamar. We are the top team in DVOA, our D went from last to 1rst in many categories, yet we continuously crap the bed in the playoffs.

I also said I wasn't going to be as invested this season but gave in because of the success. What has to change? Honestly, how do we fix this? It seems like no matter if we are top performing statistically we can't get over the hump. Is it time for harbs to go? A philosophical change?

It can only be psychological and idk that that gets fixed

That’s where I do wonder about Harbs - is the whole bible preacher shtick actually effective as a motivating tool

I think they’re struggling with 2 things…

(1) the game has gotten so much faster over the years and the refs just simply can’t keep up to todays standards.

(2) there have been so many fucking rule changes than I honestly don’t blame them sometimes. They’re forced into judgment calls rather than actual rule implementation far more than they should be.
