2025 Offseason Thread

I've never been more confident about the Steelers continuing to be totally irrelevant in this league than this upcoming season. I don't think there's anything they do well as a team.

They won't be terrible, but I think their absolute peak is the same as prior seasons, which is a wildcard round exit in the playoffs.
I think they can compete with some teams tbh.. assuming steelers offense is gonna be half decent, i dnt think bills are much better than them. If their defense isnt top 5 this year id be very surprised

I don’t know why this has felt like the longest offseason ever, maybe because as opposed to last season after the Championship game it feels like the team got better as opposed to staying stagnant but I’m so glad we’re nearly there

I've heard that homie is a fucking weirdo just like Tucker... just hopefully without the massage fetish. Maybe it was meant to be.

There might be something to having an off personality. To be a good kicker can't let things bother you. Those types usually come with quirks.

I mean their D was barely top 10 last year, and I don't see why its significantly better. I still think teams are going to run the ball well against them. They're just in a good spot because Cincy seemingly doesn't want to run the ball and CLE isn't overly effective at it.

I think their offense will be no better than last year. And it was pretty putrid last year.

I think BUF is a much, much better than than PIT, and it would be a largely non-competitive game between the two of them.

And the funny thing is... this year might look a lot like last year. They may start 3-0. They could easily be 4-1 by mid-October. And people will be like "oooo like at PIT". And then they'll play BAL x 2, CIN x 2, GB, LAC, BUF and DET, and they'll lose most of those games, and people will be like "o yeah, that's right".

I mean they picked up malik harrison whose good in the run game, derrick harmon . Resigned elliot who raven fans thought was the greatest ever lol… elliot is only good in the run game. They got juan thronhill too. They have a good pass rush and then added two of the best cbs with ball skills!

Idk how their offense will look though, never been a fan of dk..arod wont turn the ball over and will likely be better than russ wilison. Jaylen warren is a decent back also. Jonnu smith is pretty liable! I think they will compete with teams. I mean they havent had a season under .500 in 18years so its only right to assume they will compete

Packers fans been saying that jaire was basically the marcus williams of the team! Didnt know where he was at times and wasnt reading the offenses properly

We are going to be so good this year, let’s have a no nonsense start, we already know the team takes care of business at the end

I honestly don't even care. They're not our target anymore. "Rivalries" have more meaning when both teams are good. It was nice to play them in the playoffs, but that game was a formality. PIT hasn't been good in years and our objectives are much bigger than their's.

If they beat us, its the biggest win on their schedule by a country mile. If we beat them, its just another win. As long as we win the North and are in the running for home field advantage, I couldn't care less whether we finish 3-3 or 4-2 in the division. There's bigger fish.

Everybody at this point understands that division games are tougher because they see us more. Generally less scoring, a lot more physical, tend to be closer games. Regardless of record. That's just how it is.
I agree, I really meant in so far as not dropping games to inferior opponents hurting our 1 seed chances.

He's a bit of a freelancer, but that sounds like Packers fans are justifying the loss of a good player. Health has been his main issue, not on field play.

Them being 9-8 or 10-7 isn't really "competing" in my eyes unless you think they're actually capable of beating the teams in front of them. Which for the last 7-8 years they basically haven't been. Even an average team can find 7-8 wins on their schedule just by beating teams equal or worse than them.

I mean if the Ravens are 3-3 in the division they are almost certainly the 3 seed. With the rest of the schedule, 4-2 is the minimum, ideally 5-1, to be competitive for the 1 seed.

The more telling stat to me is that they are on something like a 6 game playoff losing streak. That makes them good enough to sneak in but not good enough to beat a real team.

Possibly. The 3 seed would be perfectly fine with me. I love home games as much as anybody else, but home vs road isn't the reason why we're wining or losing playoff games at this point. We've choked in both environments.
