2025 Offseason Thread

Tucker gets a 10 game suspension. Maintains his innocence but the NFL isn't handing down a suspension that long without some strong feelings/proof of guilt.

I haven't gotten firm info on what went into the choice to cut him when they did, but my assumption at this point is that they knew it was going to be a hefty one and keeping him was not going to be good PR.

Just in time for our playoff push…

the fact that 6 is the standard for breaking the personal conduct policy, he's been given 10 and isn't even considering appealing at all

tells you everything you should know (not that it was really in doubt)

Yeah exactly. The agent line of "we made the decision to accept to put it behind him" is such BS. If you're innocent, you're fighting that shit to the death.

What if he wouldve just paid for sexual favors/ happy endings without the inappropriate behavior, would they still have suspended him for 10 games?

Heading into camp roster pulse check...

Locks pending health:
QB (2): Lamar, Rush
RB (4): Henry, Hill, Keaton, Ricard (FB)
WR (5): Zay, Bate, DHop, Tez, Wallace
TE (3): Andrews, Likely, Kolar
OL (7): Ronnie, Vorhees, Linderbaum, Faalele, Rosengarten, Noteboom, Vinson
DL (5): Mads, Jones, BWash, Jenkins, Peebles
OLB (5): Oweh, Van Noy, Robinson, Green, Isaac
ILB (3): Roquan, Simpson, Buchanan
CB (6): Marlo, Wiggins, Jaire, Awuzie, Tampa, Kone
S (4): KHam, Starks, Kane, Brade
ST (2): Stout, Moore

That's 46.

Major decisions points with the obvious ones first...

OL: We're keeping 9, 10, maybe even 11 but the question is who. Will Jones be healthy enough? Will Cleveland get suspended? That leaves other guys like Samac, Dellinger, Dalcourt, and Bullock (the latter 2 of whom I've heard will have a real shot) fighting for spots 0-3 pending availability of the aforementioned 2.

K: Hopefully one of the young guys figures it out, but it's a battle and your 2025 K may not be on the roster yet.

WR: Wester seems to be the front runner for WR6 but he isn't going to have enough of a stranglehold if someone like Miller or Wade plays better.

ILB: Hummel is probably the front runner here but they do love the 2 UDFAs they got and want to see how they play.

And we're already down to 1-2 spots left with guys like RB Ali, OLB Ojabo, CB JAD, and CB Longerbeam as prime candidates.

It's not a particularly deep roster down to 90 this year, and it feels like the fight for the 53 is smaller, but it does feel like the bubble guys might be of slightly higher quality this year.

Should’ve been me. Lucky ahh woman.

I can't see us keeping 6 EDGEs with the way the roster is
I could very easily see us keeping Hummel as well as a udfa LB if they like them enough

DB is really interesting, i think we might be looking at 11 DBs at a minimum with another 2 guys who could reasonably make the roster - or it could be a straight up battle for DB11 (i've got brade, lowery and longerbeam battling for that DB11 right now) - i don't see JAD not making this roster

Wester's almost certainly only WR6 for return stuff, if he's not winning the return battle, i doubt he wins the WR battle

with OL, i think the most likely scenario is Cleveland gets a suspension and they keep 10 other guys on the initial 53 - and it's the 4 guys you mention fighting for the last 2 spots: samac, dellinger, dalcourt and bullock - signs point to jones being ready to start practising in training camp at some point, that he's probably in line for a red-shirt season that might include a lot of riding the inactives list

Wonder if Justin will get signed by a team that is in desperate need of a kicker!
Not until at, or near, his suspension ending.

There will 100% be teams trying him out mid-season if their kickers suck, and wouldn't be surprised if he signed then. But I think most likely scenario is he sits out the whole year and tries again next offseason.

You are all sleeping on Wester He's making 53.
And he'll get snaps at WR, too.

They’re going to keep the best player regardless of position. They know how to use the PS call ups. So if Ojabo is a guy they want to keep, they have no reservations about keeping 6 OLB.
