2025 Offseason Thread

I sure hope Lamar is practicing today. I’m gonna be worried otherwise.
There's no practice today. Just a walkthrough and travel day with the game tomorrow. Won't know anything until Monday.

This the ol Raven script.

In fear of losing a player to waivers, they get “injured” right before the 53. Stashed.

Lamar phantom IR incoming.

Saw my guy last night and not too much new on the roster front.

Does sound like Chandler Martin is closer than people think.

John Jenkins could also be a PS elevation guy but sounds like they're leaning against that.

But same spot we were earlier this week - seemingly 1 spot up for grabs still and they're hoping someone steps up and takes it. If more than 1 guy does, the Jenkins note above could be more realistic. Dellinger, Higgins, C. Martin, K. Martin, Brade, and a much more distant Okoye seem to be the ones vying for the open spot.

Also, he was unsure if the OL9 spot being up for grabs is real or not. He was leaning no but he said if there's something that he could see coming, it's that.

How much are we giving up for Parsons?

I actually do like the guy for what it's worth. I'd really like to keep him in house and see what happens in a year. Just don't see a way you can do that on the 53.

tools and flashes are exciting

inconsistent technique, consistently poor pad level and some fatigue issues holding back his natural talent right now (not unexpected given how new to the game he is)

If I was a team with no clear chance at winning, he’s the exact type of guy I’d take a shot on. Costs nothing to make a claim and the flashes are certainly tantalizing. Just can’t see him being on the 53 of a contending team unless the plan is to inactivate him all year.

We know the last few spots are usually ST related, so just putting this out there as food for thought. For the "guarantees" all of the following can or will play ST - speaking specifically of coverage and return units, so not the returners nor the P/K/LS...

Ali, Wallace, Walker, Kolar, Robinson, Ojabo, Green, Simpson, Hummel, Buchanan, Armour-Davis, Tampa, Kane, Lowery

A couple of those guys will probably be inactive on game days, but that's 14 guys for 9-11 spots depending on the unit. So you have the numbers already on paper. That last spot may not need to be a ST spot, but you also have a number of young guys on that list that have had limited or no experience too.

My final (at least I think...)

QB (2): Jackson, Rush
RB (4): Henry, Hill, Mitchell, Ali
FB (1): Ricard
WR (6): Flowers, Bateman, Hopkins, Wallace, Walker, Wester
TE (3): Andrews, Likely, Kolar
OL (9): Stanley, Vorhees, Linderbaum, Faalele, Rosengarten, Noteboom, Cleveland, Bullock, Vinson
DL (5): Madubuike, Jones, Washington, Peebles, Jenkins
OLB (5): Oweh, Van Noy, Robinson, Green, Ojabo
ILB (4): Smith, Simpson, Buchanan, Hummel
CB (7): Humphrey, Wiggins, Alexander, Awuzie, Armour-Davis, Tampa, Martin
S (4): Hamilton, Starks, Kane, Lowery
ST (3): Loop, Stout, Moore

Just missed: LB Higgins, LB Martin, S Brade

If they feel strongly about any of the 3 misses and still want Keyon Martin too, maybe they try some shenanigans with Jenkins.

I don't know, but it feels pretty clean cut to me this year. I guess they can always surprise but the roster feels pretty clean.

Our youngsters are a great group of players. It’s not a coincidence they are blowing out the competition.

That's my final as well

I know there’s lots of pull for Higgins but Keyon Martin reminds me of Michael pierce’s preseason as a udfa all those years ago

Played too well and made too many splash plays to be ignored

If it’s between Martin and Higgins, I want Martin!
