Which would infuriate me because Hurst is a turnstile at RT and Skura is a walking, talking liability posing as a football player. The first line has 3 good starters and two guys who could just fuck it all up. I'm sorry, if you actually watch the film, the line truly was good in spite of Hurst and Skura last season. Hurst has become one of the most infuriatingly overrated players of the team amongst the fanbase. He wasn't a good puller, he was a terrible run blocker. At least he was solid in pass pro.

The first line has Hurst playing at his best position, while having Lewis play out of position but still being solid. Stanley and Yanda are both great. Brown Jr. is a rookie who is going to make his fair share of mistakes but should still be a good player from day one from everything that I've seen on film. That's 4 starters I think could be good, and one guy who's passable. The first line could be a good unit. The second one is terrible.

Please make the right choice here Harbaugh. Or pick up a C or LG so Hurst doesn't have to start.

My personal expectation for the line given the indicators we have from preseason is that week 1 our line will be:

Stanley-Lewis-Skura-Yanda-Brown Jr with a lot of James Hurst as a 6th lineman/pseudo-tight end given the loss of Hayden Hurst

I could be wrong but from what we’ve seen that’s what I expect - I’d be surprised if skura doesn’t start at Center but I’d also be surprised if Zeus jr doesn’t start at right tackle and there’s no way Lewis isn’t starting at LG

We really need to get theagree button back but I see the line the same way. It'd be a big disappointment if Brown Jr is not the starting RT.

I didn't think there was any way Hurst wasn't going to get the start week one. The team made an investment on him and hope he can at least be a solid player on the OL. He's also a vet too. The team might re-shuffle with Zeus if Hurst struggles after a few weeks.

I'm more terrified vs the bengals. Carl Lawson ( who''s the next suggs/harrison..sorry..we messed up here) and Geno atkins vs Hurst and Skura?

don't turn up if that is what is planned.

Gino should mostly go against Yanda as long as he’s healthy and can play; however, you can always scheme guys to go against certain guys so it’s possible. Definitely a concern for sure regardless even with Brown at RT because he’s a rookie. The OL is definitely a concern especially due to Skura. Wish we still had another year of Jensen

And that’s a source I trust and I hope to hell its just a smoke screen. Because if it isn’t expect a long game where Jerry hughes turns Flacco into his whipping boy.

If this isn't a smoke screen, put me on the fire Harbaugh train. Sick of him and his playing favorites bullshit. Starting Hurst is a recipie for a losing season. You dumb motherfucker. Why even draft Brown, who was clearly superior IN THE GAMES if you were just going to bench him anyways.

I just saw the presser and literally just punched a wall - how are they so stupid?

If we play hurst we have to play him at guard
What more did Orlando brown have to do to win the job - if he’d been a first round pick they’d 100% be starting him

The other thing that pisses me off about this is how much more experience does James hurst have at right tackle than Brown given that. Brown took all the preseason snaps (and hurst took none) and since we changed OL scheme Hurst has not iirc played a single game at right tackle

So tell me again how he’s more experienced?

I don't think this is a smoke screen. Hurst just confirmed it and said its exciting and great to have coaches who believe in him.
All this talk about playing the best possible line... Stupid stuff like this will always keep us back smh

Yeah hurst is experienced alright, experienced at rolling on skates and falling into the qbs knee and watching rushers blast by him

yeah it's like what more did Brown have to do to win this job?
Hurst literally did nothing in the tackle job and was gifted the job... I don't understand how Hurst doesnt play a single snap at tackle this offseason - does the coaching staff not want to see how he does against real actual players who really actually want to sack joe?
