Article: Crap Speculation. Kap to the RAVENS

TBH, if flacco doesn't practice within the next couple of weeks then I fully expect Kaep to really be a consideration to at least come in and compete
It sounds like Flacco will be back very soon, but I think I'd feel better with Kaep than Mallett. Issue is, Kaep will cost a lot more.

Cost and player/ability, I am not a fan of signing Kaep. With that said, IF we decided to sign him and found a way to make it work financially, what would be the point of no return in the sense that if we sign him after X date, he wouldn't be able to start for an extended period of time having to learn the offense? I think if we decide to migrate away from Mallett, it has to be with an upgrade come week 1 and not week 3.

All of this is assuming Flacco might not be back soon which it sounds like he will be.

Ability and talent aren't an issue for me with Kaep. I think he's shown more than enough to deserve a shot somewhere.

I'd imagine they'd want to sign Kaep before the last preseason game to get him at least live reps with the offense in a game that didn't matter.

But I also don't expect the Ravens to shy away from Mallett because they seem to really like him.

I truly believe that we would have signed Kaepernick(much to my disappointment) if his dumbass girlfriend didn't say what she did about Steve and Ray. Just my two cents.

I agree that talent and ability he deserves a shot somewhere. Not disputing that as I don't think it's reasonable to assume he lost all of that over night. If Flacco isn't our starter because he's hurt, we aren't going anywhere anyways so let's keep the money and plan for next year. I think Kaep would fit perfectly in Seattle both from a skillset and a culture standpoint but it sounds like that ship sailed earlier in the summer when they passed on him.

Mallett plays "winning football" lol

Where is everyone seeing the flacco likely back soon stuff?

I'll try to find something to post but I've been basically seeing it everywhere online, been hearing it on the radio too. They are saying he'll return to practice soon, but won't suit up till week 1.

So, I think this is really awkward. Marshawn Lynch has been sitting for the National Anthem for 11 straight years.

At this point, it doesn't matter who sits or stands. There is one reason people do these type of stunts, for attention. The media fell for it and is giving the players, more so Kap and now Lynch the attention they want. Now Lynch has come out and said he's doing it, so does that mean Oakland should cut ties with him immediately? No, why? Lynch can still play football at a high level compared to Kap where the media is using this as the reason he isn't signed when in reality, he's just a terrible QB which teams feel as a starter or backup, he can't help them win games.

As long as the media keeps giving them the attention, this will continued to be an overblown issue. I wish some team had signed him so they can show the proof of why Kap isn't signed. If he goes out there and plays well, then there might be a case of conspiracy. If he goes out and stinks it up, then we'll know he can't play QB and that's why he isn't signed.

He's better than Mallet all day every day!

I wish people would watch him last year or 2012, 2013, and 2014 before saying he's terrible.

Kind of odd that prior to his kneeling, several teams want to trade for him (despite the abysmal 2015), then all of a sudden he kneels and the market goes dead.

Are we really suggesting he's worse than Christian Hackenburg who can't break a huddle?

I think Lynch is about the last one looking for attention.

Yet far worse QB's are currently playing in the NFL. If they can't play at a high level then why aren't they out of the league?

I've read reports that Kaep has turned down multiple vet minimum deals. I wonder if there is any truth to that.
I think there is a bunch of truth to that. I think Kap thought he could decline his option in San Fran and get a deal almost as good as he did there elsewhere. Now I think he realizes his market isn't even close to what he thought it was.

If there is truth to that and the media is neglecting to confirm it or report it in a larger way then they are, then it is incredibly irresponsible to keep peddling the narrative that he's being blackballed if he's in fact turning offers down. I do think certain teams are likely blackballing or never going to entertain the idea for one reason or another, but I am a believer some teams have made offers.

As do I especially when there're executives calling Kaep a traitor to this country. With that said, I don't know how Kaep supporters would be able to defend him if indeed there's truth to him rejecting multiple veteran minimums.

I'm not sure if it's the need for attention or just their belief. If you look up the creator of The National Anthem and research his beliefs and more towards African Americans then it may give off a reason why a guy like Lynch may decide to sit rather than stand.
